Hi from York, UK

RC Flying

A Drone Mind
I've been posting a while on RC Groups but quadcopters Geoff told me about this place and said it was friendly, so I thought I would join.

I'm sort of on a quest to find the best aerial photography platform, and by now I've tried quite a few.

I have a fairly large collection of helicopters and multi rotor craft. Two Gaui 330Xs, a Lotus T580 wobble quad, a Feiyu Tech Scorpion Y6, a tricopter, a foldable aluminium quadcopter that currently has an MK clone board on, but is my experimental platform for any new flight controllers I try, and a Mikrokopter Hexa 2. I've also had two xAircraft x650s, but I lost both of those.

Hi M8 , Hope you dont mind but i had to post your video :) I think its one of the best crash vids ive ever seen .
I also liked the emergency landing video with the cows running for there lives lol..

Anyways welcome aboard , plenty of good folks on here and its a smooth running ship thanks to Bart and the mods.

Hi York, Beverley here! I'm on my second x650 V4 first one is under the humber bridge in about 15' of mud if u want it!! Anyways I'm on a similar quest to you but with more of a focus on the most unusual rc airborne photo. How can I look at your cow crash? Best John

Are you still planning on the coming to the Meet Jonathan ? let me know if you want anything bringing along.

Rc these are awesome vids thanks, I am inspired! I went to that field next to the Minster at the weekend with a view to flying...but alas I bottled out as I just don't trust my x650 at the mo.......see my other thread in x650 forum. I am waiting for HiTec 9 Rx to arrive then I will reset everything and start again.....seriously hooked tho....am thinking X8 soon with a start in to fpv! Can I pick ur brains? Cheers John

@Airaid John, fpv is a must if you're going as high as the Minster. I definitely wouldn't trust an xAircraft x650 up there either. Unless they've vastly improved over the last 3 or 4 months anyway. Sure you can pick my brains, I don't mind metting up somewhere sometime either.

@Geoff, I would like your old Skywalker autopilot thingy. And, if you have the parts, everything I'd need to make my Hexa2 into a Hexa XL - i.e. arms, centre plates, power distribution board (unless you have a better alternative) and those funky motors you mentioned. And do I need different ESCs or not, not sure?

Hi m8 , No probs on the motors and center plates but you will need the longer booms as I have had to use the ones i had spare for that build I was telling you about , also the esc's will be fine but you will need 2 elkos on each bl2.0 for a heavier lift but these are not too much ££ . I have the XL Distro board in stock also so all you will need to finish is 6 x booms and 6 x elkos .
Geoff

Thanks RC

Look forward to meeting up sometime....here is one of my best pics yet.....View attachment 1325 not up to your standard but just warming up!

Actually I'll just have the autopilot for the skywalker for now. I might rethink what I want to do after I see some of the machines you're bringing on Saturday - i.e. I might want to make something bigger with a DJI.
