Just got off the road from shooting this quick webisode series for Onthesnow.com I got the opportunity to travel with a quad for the tour.
We got some nice shots throughout the trip. I just wish I had more time to fly. The schedule was really tight!

There is a little bit of Heli in each episode.

Awesome. Love when there is a combination of my two favorite pastimes/hobbies. I am hoping to get some aerial footage this year when I hit the mountains.

Can you share your setup? You said quad, which makes me curious size and what camera you were carrying. Excellent shots, btw.

How did the weather effect your flight times or rig control?
Did you cover the FC with something during the snowing shots?

I have been asked to shoot some skiing/SB Jumping footage and I was kind of wondering about these things!

My main rig flew great in the snow and light rain. I used a cloth bag to put over the FC.
I wish I had a umbrella to use while setting up in some locations as rain and snow fall into everything while your getting ready.

I wouldn't recommend flying in a downpour but I had no issues with heavy snow and light rain.

I would combat rain and snow in the lens by flying out with the camera pointed down and pulling back with the camera up so I wouldn't douce the lens.

I brought a POS little beater quad as a backup and to cary a GoPro. I got one of the best shots of the trip then promptly crashed. The crash was a result of the board being damaged in transport.
and a poor resolder job by me. LOL.
