Hey all new to the world of multicopter madness/forums

Hey everyone,

Just here to say hi to everyone and do a small intro. I am currently at the breaking point of excitement and rolling around on my eyeballs with the arrival of my wkm, an mk octo frame and the av200/360 cam gimbal, along with motors and all relevant accesories (gosh i hope it,s all reality says there is always more to order in the world of rc) !!!

I am almost finished a hexa homebuild which is 2 days away from lift off and will be using this to hone my skills before I pop my 5d Mk11 on my av200 and swing it through the skies (hopefully 'swing' will be changed for 'gracefully command') .
I,m a pro photographer and really want to concentrate/specialise in apv and this is the platform I,ve chosen to launch myself with. All advice taken and appreciated and willing to share whatever I learn along the way.

I,m serious about this so defo in for the long ride :nevreness:, and looking forward to meeting what seems to be nice informative people throughout this site.

In for a penny in for a pound is me, hope fully not to much pounding of the pennies lol

Righto see ya in the forums

Hi Matt welcome to the forums and look forward to your posts. Your brave to put your 5d mkII up in the air, but wish you luck and look forward to hearing about your experiences on here. Is this going to be your first multi copter build?

Hi Emo,

yeah first build first hexa and first okto and av200 and obviously first wkm so it,s a month of firsts for me and on top of that my first ever forum lol. I had a x650 quad before which i kinda lost to a good mate and other than that I,ve been on fixed wing only nitro and electric.
I,ll bet it,s going to be interesting... as for the cam i,ll hopefully be using a canon 550d as it,s 60 frames/sec and quality is still superb. But my dollars went into the flight controller etc so that will be my next purchase so till then I,ll have to risk my real girlfriend (5d lol)

HI Matt... what kind of photographer are you? You have a lot of firsts going on as do many of us on here. Its a cool forum.. here.. also my first to be
actively involved with. I looked hard at the WKM stuff but have not made a purchase yet... i'm kind of waiting around to see how things pan out with the
new platform.

Emo,

Yeah a few first for sure for me but I really enjoy that. I did about 8 years on film in Cape Town (I,m South African) and then when I moved to London I did a few other things and then got back into photography shooting both stills and video. Now I am only shooting with my 5dmk11 and basically if it,s stills it will be fashion or concept photography which I prefer. That said I was shooting in the london riots too. I enjoy the action when it,s about but my focus now is entirely on aerial and my new octo wkm setup. This is where I want to concentrate on now.

I have a project in kenya coming up in Nov and March next year on the Lesser Flamingos and that will be amazing to use the aerial so no waiting for me ...i,m going for it with the system that I have chosen and I researched it pretty well and believe long term I have made the correct decision.

Are you a combat pilot ? And what system are you using to fly rc with currently ?

HI Matt.. sounds like your shooting cool stuff. Shooting Fashion could be fun. I also have a 5d mkII. Sounds like you have some cool projects coming up and look forward to hear aboug your Lesser Flamigo project. I'm trying to get in the air to do some video stuff and been doing alot of research on that.
Right now just shooting photos from the air.
Yes have been a big combat pilot in both RC and Control line.
You asked what system i'm using to fly RC with. Did you mean multicopters... cause I have a garage full or RC planes ;-)
