Hexacrafter 650

I've never really shown my hexacrafter 650 and figured it's time. I got it a few months ago and have been trying different flight controllers, motor/prop combos and now, gimbal solutions Andrew has been coming up with. Here she is, fastest multi rotor i've ever had the pleasure of flying. she does an easy 65 mph but i see another side of here that's amazingly smooth and that's slow flying. The arms are so stiff theres no loss of energy when she corrects, it's a double edge sword, makes motor maintnance that much more critical but when everything is firing on all cyinders, shes the smoothest thing i've ever flown. Comes in around 3.6 flying 8000 mah and a hero3

shes relatively small for how powerful she is. I blew the fpv gear apart and the props so shes on the mends, but just about there, i've also got an interchangeable av-100 for it. that's a powerful fpv AP solution for relatively low cost. bundled with naza gps practicaly impossible to loose

I'll get you guys some samples of vids shortly. this was before it had gimbals
that was a hero3 in it's case bolted to the rail. was just tuning it when that crazy hfp nosedive went down. back to dji for this one.

She is a honey of a craft! Compact and taught, I can see why she ripped apart.

Do you use a PDB on your builds? I'm working on my UAP-1 hexa right now soldering bullets on my SunnySky 2814's and ZTW 45A - SimonK ESC's and trying to figure out how I want to power her up. I have a HoverThings PDB that I could use but that just seems to add another layer of center frames to mount them on but after seeing how low profile yours is I'm curious to how you wire yours.

Also, when I do the throttle calibration for these esc's do I do it like any other esc? Does it matter if it calibrate with the same rx that I plan to fly with or could it be any rx. I could tear down my F550 to get the AR8000 rx that I plan to use or a spare Futaba R617FS I have hanging around. I'm planning on using an original OPCC board for my flight control and another for the gimbal control later on.

Thanks,

John

the hexacrafter has a pdb over the esc's

i solder motor wire to esc wire on something like this thats not torn down to travel

a futaba and a spektrum receiver are going to have slightly different end points, no? You have to program the esc throttle cali, and when you do, the esc's should make you happy

Kloner, you should make the first aerodynamic body for multis. Like the thin lexan SRH kits have for the body but that cover everything but the camera. speed speed more SPEEEED!
