Good morning. I have just been trawling my way through some of the threads on here and thought I would bite the bullet and sign up as there seem to be some VERY knowledgable people about.

I'm just getting of the ground (wisecrack number 1 :nevreness:) with multirotors having developed a slightly stalkerish obsession with some of the automated quad research that is going on, with the awesome videos on Youtube of computer-controlled formation work. Then I stumbled across one of Wobby's FPV videos by accident and knew immediately that at some point I wanted to have a go. I'm going to go along to my local club soon (weather here isn't great at the mo) to brush up my skills as I haven't flown anything much since I was a kid when I had a brief but disillusioning flirtation with RC planes and helicopters. My problem is I like being independent too much, so this time I determined to bow to those with superior knowledge to help me on the way.

I will post more details of my setup once it is sorted. I have a real interest in environmental science so at some point would love to be able to use the equipment for aerial photography. Particularly given the beautiful scenery and coastlines around here.

I am a complete techie geek with a sideline in bringing laptops back from the dead. I think the hardest thing for me is putting together all this beautiful tech and then risking the fact that I might dump it into the ground at high speed!

Anyway. Slow and steady is the way forwards I think.

Have a great day!
