Hi there,

I've been reading the forum for a few weeks now. Thinking about buying my first quad/hex copter, to use it as a aerial platform for taking video's. I'm a professional pilot, who sometimes makes video's during my own flights, but since I've seen what great video's some of you have been making using quad/hex/octa copters I'm totally convinced that that is the way to go for low level filming. Hope to find here some support/advise during my search for the most suitable platform for me.

Aye Up Aerolife.

Welcome to MRF. Have you flown anything RC? I would start of with something like the Blade MQX to get a feel for MR's Its a real tough little quad and will give you hours of fun and good practice for moving up to bigger more sophisticated MR's

Enjoy your stay

Hi Dave,

I've been using first the Parrot and later the mQX, to get used to flying a bit of quad. I do have somce more RC experience but just flying little planes/heli's.

Right now I'm interested in making/buying a hexplatform that will be able to carry the Sony Nex 5 and also FPV equipment for framing. First I was thinking about the DJI F550 Wookong with a gear and gimbal (AV130), bur I'm not sure if it could carry the weight.

Sony Next wit 16mm is (+- 300gr)
Gimbal AV130 or AV130 Pro
Gear Aerocraft 170gr
Then then still the FPV equipment and OSD

So it's getting to the point that I might need to step up and go for a Droidworx with MK on board

I see you got experience with both brands, how is that working out for you?

Kind regards,

Jur
