Has anyone here used a lipo to make an external battery for their macbook?

I'm heading out on monday and dont have time to order anything but wondering if a 3s lipo is safe to use with the macbook pro. I havent measured the exact voltage but I think it is 12 volts. It would certainly be a good idea to have a line conditioner and voltage regulator of course.

that reg and filter on your plane will do it... not sure about the low voltage, might be safer on 4s

How would you attach it, exactly? Hack into the power cable?
I think you can get proper solutions for this type of thing at a lot of places. Best Buy.. etc.

I'd buy a replacement charger and solder the mag lead to the battery. The problem with whats out there is that it is really expensive. I figured if I have what I need i can do this for $20. Kloner, yeah, I was thinking about exactly that. I just dont know how sensitive the mac is. I sure dont want to mess it up for a few more hours of computer time. I'll probably be passed out anyway! :)
