I would recommend this gimbal for a light camera like gopro or for stills.
Gimbal works great but it is just can't handle a larger camera.

My CX113 can barely handle the 5n with the 16mm kit lense. Gopro 3 works perfect on 6v.

That is what I have found as well.
If you were shooting stills I think you would be fine with the NEX.
Just a bit heavy for smooth vid.
