First Quad Copter - Need help with parts?

So im going to be building my first quad copter soon and im soon it as part of a school project. The main website i have been looking at is hobbyking because they have a lot of videos and you can sort parts by their weight and stuff like that. Are there any useful websites that people would recommend or one that anyone just uses a lot?

not just looking for sites that sell, any with a lot of guides, reviews and such.
btw ive got all the ones off google that i can :)

edit: also i really need to start ordering soon so quick and simple question: for a beginner, is it better to build a smaller micro quad, or a average size like the x525v3 for a frame. I have also seen this foam one on hobbyking with prop guards, but it has some reviews pushing me from getting it. Should i go with the foam one, or a smaller micro quad, or the x525v3 and buy some prop gaurds?

Kris,

not sure if you have decided and ordered yet - but it's helpful to let us know what you are looking to accomplish. You mention a school project. Does that mean there are aone criteria that it needs to adhere to?

If not, what would like to do with the quad? Learn to fly? Lift a camera? ACRO flying?

do you have any experience yet - either Sim or micro?

ordered most of my parts and the largest order (about 88% of the parts) arrived. Will be starting a build soon.
The main title of the project was do build and evaluate a fully capable acrobatic quadcopter so yeah aero lol.

and yeah first time, no expierience (i know i should practise on a micro but im so over my budget :/ )

One thing i am really stuggling with is that i need to use more than just online sources of information. My supervisor recommended getting into contact with someone. So is there any chance i could have anyones email and just email you a few questions (i know most of the answers already as i got carried away) and you can just reply briefly? It would really help?

EDIT: Ok for anyone that can help. I have a LOT of sources referranced, none of them are offline, (they are all forums and websites), so if anyone can show or tell me about any offline sources, ANY at all! it would be much appreciated.
Examples include, nominating yourself as a source, any reports, books, even pictures, even a phone call to me where i ask you a question just so that i can say i had the effort and the idea of calling someone.

I'm more than willing to do email, or even a phone call if that's best. I honestly don't know any offline resources, as of yet. There is one magazine that recently came out (Multirotor Pilot), but I'm not sure it would cover what you need.

PM me for an email address.
