DJI S800 EVO 5.8 downlink question

I'm using the DJI 5.8 downlink system that came with the S800 EVO package and my picture on the monitor is real poor quality. I pick up the signal on channel #3 on the receiver. Only channel from 1 to 8 that receives picture. I have a 1.2 system on my F550 and it works good using the same monitor. Any thoughts?

I am on channel 4 and I have a very clear picture. I am using the white DJI CP antennas. The vTx is pointed down and the vRx is pointed up on the GS. Make sure that both your Tx and Rx are on the same frequency. It sounds like you are on adjacent channels.

I tried all channels several times and no luck. Rechecked connections and now I get good picture on channel 1. I'm sure I tried all channels several times, so I might have had a loose connection somewhere that I corrected by making sure all cables were plugged in properly. Is there any way to pick which channel you use on the transmitter?
Thanks all for the responses?

There is a recessed button on the case that you can use a paperclip to change channels or do it through the iOSD. I have seen one report of loose antenna connectors that required a resolder. You can check that as well.

Thanks for the info. Any channel better than another? On my 1.2 system, they say we can only use channel #8 in the USA.

I just use one in the middle of the frequency range. Other than that, I don't think that there is a preferred channel.

View attachment 14317A couple of thoughts.....
I have the same DJI 5.8Ghz video downlink and am getting over 500 yards clear signal at a rural golf course. However....
I am using a diversity FPV monitor/receiver system as follows: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...CD_Monitor_for_FPV_800x480_LED_Backlight.html
Also I am using the Fatshark cloverleaf antennas, one on xmitter and the other on one of the FPV built-in receivers. The other receiver simply uses a conventional omni antenna.

Also my 5.8Ghz video xmitter is mounted straight down as per DJI instructions, and as far as possible away from other electronics on the MR airframe which, in my case, is an 800mm airframe such that I have a bit more room to move it around.

Also I use the following to maintain some distance between the FPV receiver antennas and the RC transmitter antenna.
