Dear FPV Gods (ala... Kloner)

I'm guessing that all of us are simply blown away with your ability to push FPV out as far and as low as you are able. So I tried assembling a list of all your posts to avoid this one but... Knowing what you know now... Would it look like this??

Frame:
TBS Discovery w Naza and 8.5 Graupners - Weighted toward tail with a 4s 5000.
DPCav Becs and no Clue on Motors/ESCs etc - Leopards? Tigers?

TX:
600mw 5.8 Immersion or did you switch to 2.4?
(based on Pic below 2.4)

Ant:
Homemade? IB? CW? Omni Skew Planar Wheel 5.8GHz Tx/Rx Antennas

RX:
Immersion Diversity - Skew Planar & Patch?? 8+Dbi??
(Ahh... Double Crosshair patch)

Camera:
Sony Super Had CCDII or Pixim Seawolf or now... GoProBlack

Goggles/Monitor:
7" Monitor (AMP set me up with a 10" and LOVE IT)
Fatshark Altitude? or no more goggles monitor only.

OSD:
Eagle Tree OSD Pro

Am I Close??

Also wondering if you use an Antenna Tracker particularly with your wing and how the heck do not outrun your radios?? Did you go to a 2.4ghz Radio Booster hack or just switch to a 433/900 EzUHF?

Sorry mate, been having a blast learning FPV and trying to find the range limits on the 400mw 1.3 currently on. Bought a couple IB ants to play with and trying to slow down before I start drilling holes in the DX8 to add a booster. Figured I'd post first ;) See what Patrick started ;) ;)

and then theres this... (Kloners GS Below) ;)

i only use one kind for craft to GS, lawmate 2.4 vtx and either an immersion duo2400 or the lawmate vrx on a tracker. All my quad vids are the immersion on pair of 3db crosshair

but once the signal is on the ground, use the immersion 5.8 vtx out of both setups. from there got a 7" with a 5.8rx, 16" with 5.8 rx, and used to have the fatshark with built in 5.8. when i toss something up at Daves and look back, got alot of passengers...... there'll be 2-5 guys leaning against the fence with goggles on heads in various attitudes.... fun way to do it

on that pic, see half way up on the tripod under the antennas theres a rubber duck sticking out sideways, thats the 5.8 transmitter, top of monitor, same thing..... without that, you got wires going every which way. The way it is, i can put the tracker up on a hill and go miles from it if i want to to fly from. This was after i'd tried everything else, in all kinds of brands. Hands down no question this is the best system for my area. You can get interference, but ch 5 and ch8 cleans up all the spektrum/jr/futaba static. I fly around every type of 2.4 out to frsky and none of em interfere with any of this setup. I'd hazard to guess, you could fly these on ch5 or ch8 and not have any problems with said 2.4 transmitters. They come locked out to ch1-4 only so you gotta break the glue to get to 5-8

there you go...... My recipe is mainly ezuhf rc control and 2.4 video,,, on ch 5. You gotta unlock em (peel glue) but that way spectrum and futaba don't interfere

Suppo motors have proven to be the mutts nutts, but there just not very mr engineered. Them leopards are alot like avroto motors. amazing quality for the money

on most of my multirotors i just use the core osd,,,,, it shows my rc signal strength, mah used and volts/amp draw. Between all that i know when i'm pushing the limits of ezuhf and it shows enough info about the battery to know it it's gonna try to lvc on me with low voltage from worn out packs.......if i see less than 14.2 v under load i'll land whereever it is and go get it. starts to happen alot if you abuse your packs. I've gone to sticly crosshair antennas from the ibcrazy crosshair tutorial...... search the web, it's on alot of forums, pretty easy to make if you got the tools

Sweet

I'm taking my baby steps since I won't be going UHF for months now.
Going to rock the 5.8Ghz and try different antennas once the Diversity box is in stock.

I wish I was already UHF to get that RSSI through the core

So far we've had more money than sense, so trying to run before crawling (obviously). Will see how long the checking account lets that strategy play out ;) Truth is both of us are having a blast like never before with the 550 and the farther we go out the more giggling like little schoolgirls we seem to do.

Picked up a set of IB Fans so will see if that lets us outrun the stock Spektrum and thanks for the tip on the crosshairs and 14.2 landings!! ;)

see if patrick has any of them crosshair antennas left over

I know what you mean, it's a trip sending models off like that
