Couple Futaba Alternative (RXs)

I just gave these two Hobby King RX's a try on my 14SG and they bench-checked "Good". Able to bind with no issue and would swing servos.

Just a couple alternatives. I personally would only use them on park fliers, or close range, just because of the money usually associated with MR's, but I wanted to give a quick note to the forum community and let them know they work with other TXs not listed.

** PLEASE NOTE, I did NOT check SBUS on the FrSky RX on my Disco/Naza, but it did actuate servos.

I have used both of these, the Orange version has great range but gave I it to one of my sons with a T8FG that I gave him to get him started. The TFR4 SB is also great on range, comparable to any Futaba Rx, the big but with this little guy is that while the S-Bus works fine the spare channels are hard coded to channels 1-3, would have been much better if they were 9-11 or even 6-8, it means that the three channels are pretty useless for powered use, better to get the original TFR4, has either four channels or CPPM and RSSI, better for some uses. If it was programmable like say the EZUHF 4 channel Lite Rx it would be just about perfect.

I also highly recommend slipping some lightweight heatshrink over the package, not a lot of protection from the cardboard case.

I use them with 14SG as well.

Cheers

Pete

The two earlier CPPM versions of the TFR4 both do either four channels or CPPM/RSSI. The new TFR4-SB version with S-Bus does not do RSSI, looks like a half arsed effort from FrSky if you ask me, S-Bus and RSSI or S-Bus and channel 9-11 would have been much better.
