Hoverfly Configuring Gains

I'm having issues configuring gains on either the dial or knob. So I can adjust while in mid-flight. I have a Spektrum DX8. I'm not sure where I should be doing this exactly ... mixing? This sounds like a simple question, but I cant find the answer anywhere. If so I'm over-looking the obvious.

Hoverfly was what I was attempting it with, for the main gain, auto-height.
I also have the Naza, WKM in the near future, but I'll be switching those over to my Futaba T10CHG, leaving the Hoverfly on the Spektrum.
Once I know how to do it on the Spektrum, it shouldn't be that much different on the Futaba. At least I hope not. Two different monsters.

Sorry mate, I am not good with Hoverfly.....just wait a while to you get an answer from somebody here on the forum. If no success, you might try it here: https://hoverflytech.zendesk.com/forums
You might also want to change the headline in this tread to: Configuring Gains with Hoverfly FC

Hope that helps

I know its the wrong place for the Naza (Hoverfly forum) but if I knew how to configure on the Naza, I may be able to attempt it on the Hoverfly. I've never used the knob for adjusting gains, but I can see how it would come in handy. Isn't it a matter of switching or mixing somehow?

I guess you have the Manual/AL set on a 2 pos'n switch on ch5 already and you want to mix another channel assigned to a dial with ch5. dont have a spektrum so cant be much help.
Could you just asssign the dial straight to ch5 and switch mode/adjust gains with the dial. Dont know how the HF would behave during the transition though.

yes, normal flight mode and auto-level are assigned to the gear channel (5) and I want to mix the knob which is aux3. I've played with the mixing but not sure if its correct and would like somebody elses opinion who uses it. The other area is while holding down the roller when starting up I get into the switches but can't re-assign them to anything other than (Inh), other switches can't even be changed. Which I would like, as the smaller ones would be better to use for the Hoverfly functions ... basically smaller and less-likely to get flicked on by mistake.

Anyone who uses the Spektrum DX8, Hoverfly and remote gain adjustments on the Aux3 knob able to assist in how they have it setup?
