Camera Image fading out after 2-3 Min

I've just rewired my FPV kit due to upgrading power source from 3S to 4S and using a balance lead to power the TX. This is coming in at 11.5 volt, pushing 5.4-5.5 to Camera which is exspecting 5v After running while not flying the picture deterates and fades out leaving me with only the OSD on the googles.. I'm thinking that this could be the 5.4 volts going into the camera as I'm typing.. What are your thoughts guys..

View attachment 9486Hi Kloner. I did try connecting the 3S balance lead on but just remembered that set WKM to 4S which I thing the OSD links in now as I get neither OSD or Vid on 3S BUT look at balance lead connector surely this should be black to black....

its getting voltage from the TX which has a built in step down which pushes 5.4 volts on the check when connecting the 4S. Sorry Kloner do you mean try and feed with something else.. I do have a NEC but this is set to 6v powering servos for the Gimbal I dont have configure to hand to change settings Arrrrr..

we use these for video becs

i'd get it off the rc power supply. That regulator goes straight onto 4s input and out to a camera, if your vtx is 12 volt, your battery sags under that every flight and youd want one like this to power it

If you have ever ran a vtx without an antenna it can cause internal vtx problems that can have a similar behaviour

Thanks Kloner, will look into purchasing one. It was balance leads incorrectly set, the support advised how to change and all ok now..

gotcha, but those points i made are still "not right" in fpv land. the rc receiver add noise to the floor and is going to greatly reduce range. possibly for both.........

Hi Kloner,

Ordered a handful of these and literally rcvd in post moments ago, very fast shipping considering it had to leave China, go to the States and then be forwarded to the Middle East...

Question... what are you using to program the voltage stepdown??

Thx in advance mate!!

you just use a screw driver and voltmeter...... set it first, then power up when your using it with and check again. if you change cell counts, recheck it. there not computer controlled like where all used to, but there super low power and pretty quiet for a switching regulator
