Anyone own both a F450 and a F550 for comparison in wind?

I own a F450 and finally have it sorted so have been flying about quite a bit. It's always windy where I am and when hovering this makes the onboard video jump about a bit. What I am wondering is if a hexcopter would work better in wind? Was thinking of buying a couple of extra motors, ESCs and the F550 kit to move stuff over to test, but figured people here have possibly already dont it so can compare!

I am mostly interested in attaching a camera and having a fly about more than sport flying. I have read conflicting forum posts online with some people saying the quad is better in wind and some others saying the hex is better! The quad is stable enough in wind to be controllable which is cool, but if the hex is even better then thats even better!

From the way I understand things a Quad is the more efficient & has less surface area to catch the wind but a hexa has more power & more weight so less likely to get bounced around as much assuming they are of similar types like the F450 & F550. I have heard others on the forum saying that a Y6 hexa is the best. From my experience with my F450 naza with GPS & my F550 with WKM the F450 gets bounced around more due to pressure changes with the gust's but they both fly quite similar otherwise, but that maybe due to the differences between the naza & WKM.

I have the same problem with wind where I live, this year has been attrocious for wind, not real strong but enough to buffet my craft about and make video a pointless exercise. Its generally accepted that coax configuration is better in wind that flat. ie Y6 over hex or X8 over octo. Personally I have only used quads and X8 so its something I wonder about also. I agree with yakjock about the weight factor.
