Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
have you calibrated the ESC's? checked the rotation of the motors for correct direction?

i'd leave the GPS off until you've got it flying even if only for a few flights.

has the flight control board been hooked up to the ground station to check if the firmware is the latest version?

Im trying to install the controller and see what happens. Ill leave the gps off. I havent built and run one yet. I really need to see some ones already put together so I can get an idea. Thanks for your response.

Like Bart mentioned, You're definitely going to want to hook this up to mission planner to make sure all your settings are correct. There are a ton of options/choices that you need to make before trying to lift off.

And as Bart also mentioned, make sure you check motor/prop direction. APM is different than any other configuration I've ever used.

I think Im gonna step back and research all these terms and mission planner before I mess up. Once I get up to speed everything will become second nature as rc cars are. Is there a complete kit that I can build so I don't have to piece all together. I don't want to buy already built. Maybe dji f450?

The DJI 450 with Naza lite or M-V2 is probably more simple - but all of them will require you to learn their proprietary setup procedures.

The APM format is pretty robust. May be worth taking a look and seeing how you feel with it before buying other products.
