Hoverfly Hoverfly Pro 4.6r2 on a Hoverthings FPV Frame

I got my Hoverthings FPV frame wired up this weekend and gave it a first flight. I had time for one battery before the sun went down. First off, the frame is great and I highly recommend it. I'll probably post some pics of the build once I get the last of the wiring secured down. It looks nice...

Hoverfly GPS Data for Antenna Tracker or XBee Link?

Hi all; just checking on the plans for an antenna tracking system or getting data out of the XBee to a base station? Been wondering about those for a long time. Thanks! -Mike

Hoverfly Hoverfly Pro Work Well with Smaller Props?

Hi all; since I'm selling my big Y6, I'm going for a small and quick FPV rig. Im thinking this: Hoverthings HT-FPV frame: http://www.hoverthings.com/frame-sets/htfpvblack.html NTM 28-26A 1200kv motors: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=17345 GAUI 210801 8-inch...

Hoverfly QAV500 Frame with Hoverfly Pro and GPS board

Hi all; I built my Y6 with the big Avroto motors and used Rusty's frame intending it to be my last multirotor copter build. Sadly, I'm just not that happy with it. It flies great, but the flight time is poor without huge batteries because it weighs so much and with the camera and gimbal system...

Hoverfly Proper Initial Setup and Configuration

I'm using the Avroto 2814 motors with 12x3.8 rotors on top and 13x4.7 on bottom. The bottom motors are noticeably hotter after even very short flights. Seems like I should put 12x3.8 on the bottom too. -Mike

Hoverfly Proper Initial Setup and Configuration

Hrm, the servos are HS-65MG and there are no external pots on the mount. I'll try driving them through the receiver to see if they behave OK there. As they are brand new, fresh from the package, I'll be pretty irritated if they came bad. -Mike

Hoverfly Proper Initial Setup and Configuration

It's not too severe so I'd not really dug into it yet, I just noticed it as it wasn't something I'd had happen before. The motors all spin in the right direction and they are calibrated equally, both throttle and the settings. I was very anal about that as it was often suggested to be the main...

Hoverfly Proper Initial Setup and Configuration

Well, I followed these steps up to #19. Flies flawlessly (though totally destroys my 3 cell batteries - needs 4 for sure) in manual mode, but is freakishly bad in AL. The gains had to be 15 to stop twitching. I've not had a chance to figure out what's wrong there as it's dark here and I ran out...

Hoverfly Proper Initial Setup and Configuration

Hi all; I bought a Hoverfly Pro right after it came out and have been using it happily since. I also bought a GPS unit when the pre-order was available. If you have seen a few of my posts on RCGroups you'll know I've not been using the GPS as I've not been pleased with it's consistency. With...

Hoverfly First Time Y6 Questions - Props and Batteries

Heh, I'm not a "tinker-er" with this type of thing. I'd like to get it working and just stick with it. I'm not super picky about flight characteristics - I can learn to fly around quirks easily enough as long as it's consistent. I just want stable and since I fly very conservatively, it's not...

Hoverfly First Time Y6 Questions - Props and Batteries

Gah! I just spent $100 on new props - 12x3.8 and 13x4.7 specifically. Ouch. -Mike

Hoverfly First Time Y6 Questions - Props and Batteries

Hi all; just making the leap from RCGroups to here. I'm trying to build my last copter for a while. I'm ready for something to use rather than experiment - I just want to fly! So, with that said, I've been taking all the advice I can get from everyone. My goal is basic AP and lots of FPV. I'm...
