Self-reply for the record. I fixed this. It was a charger software issue. I downloaded the upgrade tool and the .bin from progressiveRC and was able to "upgrade" the software in it (I used the same version it was already in there, 3.14), but it served the purpose.

Nice choice. I built mine earlier this year. Very happy.

I inspected under the screw holes carefully with a magnifier and could see no damage. I used the original DJI F550 screws, which don't seem to be long enough to cause that damage.

The motor was faulty. I put in a new one and it is fine. ESC also OK. Very disapointing for a brand new T-Motor.
