InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

I have this D5200 for a long time. It's a nice camera all in all, but no match for a GH4 on the video side. However it does allow interesting lens choices and simulating near GH4 weight. I wouldn't use it professionally though. The Strata should be around $300-$400, depending on the final...

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

It's a Nikon D5200, so not particularly light either (about GH4 size). Strata is a direct upgrade. You disconnect the Spectar IMU, and put the Strata on. It's the same bolt pattern too. This video was filmed without encoders. We will have encoder support in v2000.

No offense taken, but customer service is something dear to my heart. We mess up at times like everyone else, but I hope its not the norm.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

I don't think a 40 degree horizon tilt is typical of most users (or we'd sell nothing and have no videos whatsoever). The fact Zen and Movi use encoders have nothing to do with their horizon performance. I'm sure DJI would love to lose the encoders on their smaller gimbals but it makes the...

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

Funny thing is that I just looked over the RCG thread and I'm right there on the last page, so I have no idea what you're talking about (and neither do you).

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

It's not about being headstrong, its a matter of development priorities. Currently there's a single gimbal you can buy - Jakub's - with encoders, and he's working exclusively with Alexmos so its not something we will support. Encoders would do nothing to help horizon. GPS could help but its a...

    Phobotic Micropiece Controller

Not exactly the same IO, but close (obviously it's so much smaller and something had to give). Same features as the CP/CPHV currently have. Encoders could be supported once there are gimbals with encoders. Other than Jakub's (which works exclusively with Alexmos), it hasn't caught on too much...

    Phobotic Micropiece Controller

Roughly 32.5mm by 55mm. Family picture (disregard the connector exiting to the side - on the production boards, all connectors are vertical for easy enclosure mounting):

Both share the same firmware. There's a 1337 beta that's running in some places and will turn into a stable release.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

First, Alexmos isn't open source and has no derivatives. Second, assuming all gimbal controllers are equivalent is very far from reality. Gimbal controllers are potentially more complicated than flight controllers (they certainly require much higher bandwidth, precision and consistency). There...

Not sure what's it about "perfect conditions" with the CP. Care to explain?

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

Well this is Jakub's own video with the earlier InfinityMR (I think he changed some stuff from there to now): It's not perfect, but it is significantly better than what was posted here. In both cases I'm sure there can be improvements with fine tuning.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

We used Maxon ones which are altogether different (pulsed). We can add support for whatever catches on, of course, but the market is not there yet.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

There are multiple kinds of encoders with different interfaces (SPI, PWM etc). Other than that it's not a big issue. We already have encoder support in the experimental firmware, just didn't have any gimbal to put it on. Anyway, I'm not sure encoders will really catch on, there are far too many...

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

I don't know when/if we'll support the InfinityMR encoders. Jakub mostly works with Alexmos now, so there isn't much incentive for us there. We'll surely support encoders on other gimbals though, stay tuned for that.

It would be interesting to compare the Centerpiece to that, wouldn't it?

Looking for advice: gimbal with 2,5kg payload

Our BG001 is prone to misalignment on the pitch because it doesn't have the newer solid roll bar. Other than that, its great.

Looking for advice: gimbal with 2,5kg payload

I think he only carries the smaller BG001 which we also use a lot for testing nowadays. There other pro customers of ours using these in various configurations (handheld and aerial). These things are completely overbuilt, which is great for a gimbal.
