    Zero UAV UAV Zero Steadi470

Hi John, Don't really know what it will cost to repair. I pretty much have to replace the entire bare bones frame and gimbal. It didn't handle the crash well at all. I have an Xaircraft and DJI frame that I have had similiar crashes with (without gimbal mounted) and only had to repair an arm...

    Zero UAV UAV Zero Steadi470

I sent the log file to Peter at Zero and he confirmed what went wrong - Pilot Error!!! The quad was pretty far away and I didn't have a good orientation on it. It appeared that it wasn't responding to my down stick input so I switched from Manual ATTI to Manual - BAD MOVE. Since I was...

As promised, here is the video of my crash. Sorry about the GoPro, but the only thing I have to follow the quad. Kind of hard to see but..... http://youtu.be/5opn5zh4GDE

A couple of things. Can you video your process so I can see what is going on? Or you can send Peter (at Zero) an email and he might be able to work you through the issues (support_zerouav@yeah.net). What I have found is usually these things are something simple but not intuitive - partly lack...

I had my roll at 80 and pitch at 20 and it seemed to be pretty good - too bad I wasn't able to try it with a camera mounted (but then again, guess I would be out one camera as well)! From what you present, It almost seems like the alignment isn't taking. You may want to try a number of times...

Just to be sure, you are setting "mode" to 6 and sending it to FC before aligning gimbal? Once you have aligned gimbal you are changing it back to 2 and sending it? Then power down everything and restart? Just came back from my test flight. All was going sort of okay until the quad just...

Yes, I believe you will need to jailbreak the iphone in order to load "non apple approved software." One reason i bought an android tablet.

Good to know about you also not having a roll control. I guess that is what we used to call in the software business - an undocumented feature! (Of course it would be nice if Zero took out the documentation that states that roll should be working!). In any case, I seem to be good to go - and...

    Zero UAV UAV Zero Steadi470

Hi Johnno, My roll control for the gimbal doesn't work anymore but I still have the tilt working okay. Can't figure out why it stopped working. As for the slamming around of the gimbal - I still get some of that once in a while but not every time I power up - it seems to correct itself by...

    Zero UAV UAV Zero Steadi470

On rechecking the firmware, I found the file from Peter (support guy at Zero) and it does have a date of 10/20 and is 191 kb. So you might want to try clearing out all old firmware and just reloading. Be sure you get a message that says everything loaded correctly. Let me know if that helps.

I was going to send you to Rob's site http://multirotor.co.za/?page_id=964 to get the firmware but I didn't see it there. I thought he posted it. In any case, if you give me your email, I will attach what I am using and send it to you. The version I have is only 171 kb -- where did you...

    Zero UAV UAV Zero Steadi470

I had the exact problem with my gimbal slapping back hard upon power up. I believe it was due to loading the wrong firmware. Can you tell me the file size of the firmware you uploaded to the FC? There is a difference of about 20 kb between the YS-X6 and the Steadicam470 firmware. That is the...

Just one other question (for now anyway), were you successful in setting up failsafe on your Futaba radio? I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. With my Naza it was super simple - since the interface showed were you were on the endpoints. I don't have a clue how to do it on this...

I plan on spending some time trying to fix the odds and ends on mine tomorrow. With luck, I will put a camera on the frame and see how it compares to Philippe's I wonder if he stabilized the footage via YouTube enhancements or if it is raw.

Hi Philippe, Pretty impressive footage! You using a 5N? Also, one question in regards to the wiring harness. Did you make it yourself or did Zero provide it with the kit? Curious how you routed all your servo/power wiring. I am not sure I have run mine the most efficient way. Jim

Just recently got back in town after being away for a few weeks. Haven't had a chance to go back out and fly yet. Actually, I haven't been flying the steadi470 since I did the hover check. If the weather permits, I should have time next week to check it out more thoroughly. I got kind of...

Hi Johnno - Is your transmitter still showing the correct assignment to "LD" "RD" ? If it is you mgiht want to try reloading the FW again. I have run into an issue where only the tilt knob works even though they are both assigned properly (they both used to work). I plan on reloading the FW...

Apparently the servos chattering is the nature of the beast - noisy digital servos. However, I am also getting a constant twitching that is actually causing significant vibration to the frame. I think I likely need to turn down one of the servo adjustments in parameters/settings. Out of town...
