agreed with shaun. cinestar hl wise choice-- parts available and support unless you want to go with custom setup for smaller footprint like an x8. there's new efficient motors then a year ago so flight times are getting better. there were a few releases at nab for big custom co axial setups...

thats pretty much the workflow. i would test rapid fast full throttle blips and see if there is sync issues with props off of course. don't let the motor spin full throttle too long w/ out props..thats is not a good practice due to weird centrifugal forces and no prop wash to cool motor. then...

i use huddy hex drivers never had a problem and have replaceable tips. never stripped another dji hex screw on any of the builds i was part of after those. there were pricey but better then drilling out screws then having tiny fragments enter into the motor.

if you want a product that is vigorously tested as a a pro solution head over to the freefly camp, you got to pay more but thats been my only recomemdation for years to people that want a vetted pro solution. everyone knows at this point what there getting into flying dji. time and time again...

tuukkuli. what i seen so far looks great on the m5. the 5d zen issues are being reported much more now that people are getting there s1000's in the air. they need to sort that out for people $3k isn't cheap in my book.

it also would of been nice for the gimbal to roll so the cam in not upside down. was it too difficult to make the camera level at its world premiere.

there could also be a screw in the motor thats protruding too far into the housing. I've heared of this before before on brand new motors which causes shorts on esc's. good point Swarfworks about testing the motor for continuity.

check for a short. if the motor works with the other esc then most likely not the motor. imo- something in that area is shorting them out like that last time. check all motor wires/esc wires are insulated from anything conductive like the frame and screws.

gain range up to 500% is not out of the ordinary. people on large custom setups with greater then 20 inch props have had success with gains in the 400% range doesn't mean you have to use them. tune your craft to the gains that work---obviously. i got a feeling thats why they bumped them up...

those are called the freefly motor control set which seem to be typical hobby wing esc's with some settings changed.. a turnigy program card was reported to work on them. they have the same start up tones as usually hobby wing/turnigy plush esc's with cell count etc. what your paying for is...
