    Bnuc-s

A case in point is the distance limiter in the latest version of the WKM firmware. Having an additional safe guard to keep you well inside 'the bubble' must be a worthwhile addition to any OM's list of safety features.

    Bnuc-s

We had a l o n g conversation about this and I think the general consensus was that, if you carefully worded your OM with regard to firmware updates - which in some cases might be required by the mfr, and adequately described a test procedure for checking air worthiness after said update...

LED Lighting - What are you using?

Flytron strobes are superb - very bright, simple to set-up - you just plug them in - defo recommend them.

Should I keep investing in 5.8ghz video?

Have you tried using the stock rubber duck antennas, just as a test to see what range you get with them and see if it might be a Tx antenna issue. Other options are IRC SpiroNet antennas and the new airwave 5.8gHz Dominator module - not hugely expensive - which IRC suggest doubles receiver range.

    Jeti DC16 unboxing

Finally got around to first testing of the unises-E telemetry sensor yesterday. Initial findings are that the DC-16 is getting info from it but, 1: it's all in german and 2: the info is a bit 'odd' The german language thing isn't a total issue, just need to learn what each word means. No idea...

    Peli Case for S800 &/or Z15

Played pick-n-pluck with my 1660 this weekend. So far i've got the landing gear with zen/camera mounted and the centre plate with gps mast in one side and my radio and netbook in the other and there's a reasonable amount of space left for more gear. Arms will go in the lid, like the others...

New to this world. Have S800 and want to learn. Advice welcome..

There is a bracket in the WKM parts bags - with the GPS masts, but there's nowhere specific on the S800 to bolt it to.

New to this world. Have S800 and want to learn. Advice welcome..

There's not a whole bunch of info required really, just some careful consideration of what additional kit you'll be using and how that all needs to go together. Watch the DJI video, there's a bit where he holds up the populated centre plate, screen grab that as it shows how/where DJI place the...

New to this world. Have S800 and want to learn. Advice welcome..

Just my 2 penneth. Make sure you have all the electronics planned out and purchased before you begin your build. Space is tight in the centre plate and it helps to think about what goes where to make for clean cable routing etc. Nothing should touch the IMU when it's in place. When fitting...

Two way radio for Pilot - Copilot communication

i was looking at something like THIS - binatone action 950 I think it's possible to spend a fortune on this kind of thing, but these 'seem' to do the trick for a reasonable price. You need to look out for the 'VOX' function i think, for voice activated communications.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT? - Product photos

We often do large volumes of product shots which all need to be cut out. i have a manfrotto table with a large, curved, rigid nylon surface, I light from below, behind and from each side - you'd be surprised how many lights and how much illumination is required. this gives a shot which is on...

    Jeti DC16 unboxing

i paid £24 for my jetibox, so not a massive investment. i'd say it's a must buy as it does stuff the radio alone can't do, like the above settings.

    Jeti DC16 unboxing

this process is obvious when you've finally done it and the information is all there in the various documents, it's just that it's not communicated in a clear way. it would be good if jeti had included a physical connection in the radio for receivers and a more developed 'jetibox' interface, to...

    Jeti DC16 unboxing
