F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

Good question indeed. In order to absolutely take the intermittent connector issue out of the equation, I have unsolder the motor wire going to the motor connector leaving the end of the wire bare. I them solder the wire directly in the DJI OPTO electronic speed control (ESC) female receptacle...

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

Another 15 min + flight in gusted winds up tp 12 mph and she was FLAWLESS! I am using an hyperion 5000 mAh that loads her up pretty good and the variation in wind direction and velocity allowed me to see and hear the amazing NAZA controller in action. The hole flight in this condition of wind...

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

As this turns out, if this allows all DJI F450 and F550 to fly RELIABLY without any system glitches which has cost me over $300 so far, I think it is a good reason to scream don't you? :)

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

EUREKA!!!!!! I have talen drastic measures to isolate the possible intermittent connections caused by the easily rotating contact element of the 9212 motor connectors to the ESC. I CUT THEM OFF AND SOLDERED THE WIRE DIRECTLY TO THE ESC CONNECTOR !!! It is not has difficult as it initially...

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

This is SOOO great! Thank you to all of you for your reply and suggestion. It makes a lot of sense. I had pinpointed the ESC as possible/plausible source of problem but the specific problematic was unknown, until you guy got involved with this thread. Your implication is greatly...

F550 WKM went down like a sack of bricks!!!

I am very concerned. The same this happened to me yesterday! I was in a hover on my second flight, ATT mode at about 100 feet. The Quad was stable and I started walking towards the quad in order to position myself underneath. Absolutely no radio inputs. All of a sudden, without any warning...

Motor temperature for DJI 2212, HELP NEEDED

All right! I can fly with confidence now and I am glad to see that I have nothing to fear with motor temp 110 -115 F!!! I have one last question for you, is it better to let the motor sit for 10 mins after every flights (15 mins with 3s, 5000mAh) of now that I have an operating temp range...

Motor temperature for DJI 2212, HELP NEEDED

Super, thank you for your quick reply! You bring up another point with respect to oil however. I thought the bearing (s??) were self seal and lub for life, guess not. I also heard that in normal conditions, the bearings are good for 1000 hours.... That is a heck of a lot of flying if you ask...

Motor temperature for DJI 2212, HELP NEEDED

Good day to all! I am having a ball with my DJI F450 (NAZA + GPS) and I make a point to touch my motors after each flights. I run Hyperion 3s packs rated at 2200mAh and 5000 mAh. As it is rather difficult to precisely evaluate the motor temp by simply touching it, I purchased a laser temp gun...

    Toilet Bowl effect

I suspect that there is a slight discrepancy between the alignment of the red arrow reference mark on the outside casing of the GPS antenna and the magnetic sensing probe of the NAZA controller. This causes a signal error and the toilet bowl effet is the NAZA controller attempting to solve this...

    Toilet Bowl effect

I initially got a similar result with my NAZA (DJI F450). As it turns out, I observed an increasing clockwise toilet bowl rotation to the point were I had to regain control of the ship. Experimentation with GPS antenna orientation showed a net improvement with a 25 degrees (approx) offset to...

Ok, got plenty of video now but how do you handle 200 Meg files???

Ok, I see, that seem to be relatively easy. I will proceed this way. Any suggestions for easy free basic editing software? I am a pilot, really not a movie maker!! (Ha! Ha!)

Ok, got plenty of video now but how do you handle 200 Meg files???

Hi guys! Relatively new to Quad world but not to the hobby and very impressed by the stability of my DJI F450 with NAZA + GPS. I fly with Hyperion 3s (2200 mAh for 7 solid minutes and 5000mAh for 15 mins). I am shooting video with a HD Flip camera and the result is quite good. No jello, barely...

Hi Bill, I reside in St-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, near St-Eustache on the North shore. I find it interesting that you are looking after your mom at home and enjoying the passionate hobby of Multirotors flying because my situation is very similar to yours. I have been looking after my mom aged 86 and...
