Hoverfly HoverflyGIMBAL and Cinestar gimbal - IT WORKS!

The latest news is that we've done a lot of testing with the HF Gimbal and determined that Hoverfly needs to do a bit of work on the software to really get it where we want it. So the fastest way to make that happen? ROADTRIP. We've talked with Hoverfly, and have decided to make a roadtrip...

Hoverfly XY8 Coaxial Quad build with Hoverfly Pro

Wow - "super clean" is right. When I get some time, I need to clean up my wiring, and I'll be using your pics as the standard to meet.

Xoar precision pairs on Cinestar 8

It's possible that there are other prop sizes that could work better, but I think I'll leave well enough alone for now.

New Equipment is Here (Cinestar 8 + HFP + 3xproV2)

I've found that the APC SF props work better with the HFP boards than the Xoar props. But Xoar props work great on other rigs.

Hoverfly Hoverfly Pro and Cinestar 6 Airframe

Oh, now upon looking at your picture closer, I see the problem. The battery plate on the 6 is different from the 8. If I think of a solution, I'll let you know.

Xoar precision pairs on Cinestar 8

Well, the Xoar props didn't work out as well as I hoped. The props are well balanced, that's the good. BUT, for my combo of motors (QC3328), frame (CS8) and flight controller (HFP), the APC SF 14x4.7 just fly better. I experimented with the gain a lot, but in the end the APC's just work...

I actually used two of those plates. See the attached photo (and ignore my bird's nest wiring).

I'll definitely try out using a board on subsequent builds. Looking forward to reading about your progress and finding out more about your aircraft.

Xoar precision pairs on Cinestar 8

I just received some Xoar precision pair props (wood) for my Cinestar 8. Each pair is very close in weight, and there is one CW and one CCW. My thinking was, "I'll put one on one boom, and the other on the opposite boom, then repeat." But in an octo, the opposite motor across spins in the...

Hoverfly XY8 Coaxial Quad build with Hoverfly Pro

Bartman, thanks for sharing these pics along the way. It's always good to see what other people are trying. I ended up going the route of soldering several smaller wires to one big wire that would have a connector for the battery. PRC6 connectors for the batteries and XT60 connectors for...

Post Production Softare? What do you use?

I've cut national shows NBC Sports and Comcast on Apple Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 - both are definitely up to the task. Avid Media Composer is nice too. All three are expensive, but you get what you pay for.
