It says "wait until we get it right" to me.

    3D Printing Parts

The biggest problem with Shapeways is the fact that they ship UPS. And the wait to see if your part works. The advantage is that SLS is more accurate than extruded, and ABS does shrink and can warp while it's hot but once you've burned through a couple of pounds it becomes second nature. The...

    Not in my experience.

    3D Printing Parts

Absolutely. I made a folding quad with 1" shower curtain rod for the arms and it flew great. The ABS is super strong if the design and printing technique are good. I'll post up some pics.

It looks good and the price is certainly right. I can't believe they raised a half a mill though - wow.

How NOT to fly a hexa DJI

No they aren't - it's a flying ginsu with relatively new technology. There is one steadfast rule about flying things - they can and do fall out of the sky at unpredictable times. If you are operating under any other mindset you are playing the equivalent of RC Russian Roulette with people who...

GoPro ISO - wire frame isolation for GoPro and other jello monsters.

After staring slackjawed at Sketchup for countless hours and inhaling way too many ABS fumes, I finally came up with a winner. Wire rope isolation designed with the camera in mind and flexible (ha!) mounting options. 1) The ClikIt ISO $24 shipped This modular design utilizes the GoPro quick...

12mm boom clamps in the UK

I can print you some, but postage would probably be a killer. There's bound to be someone on that side of the pond who can as well.

    APC Thin experiences

I highly recommend getting yourself a watt/amp meter and build a simple test stand. When you are buying at least 3 props at a time it's really frustrating and expensive to be guessing. Here is some basic multicopter prop rule-of-thumbery: May I recommend some light reading as well?

    APC Thin experiences

At the same prop speed and diameter the higher the pitch the more amps drawn. For slow flying and hovering use the lowest pitch and largest diameter you can for torque and efficiency. For fast flying/acro the higher pitch is more dynamic has a higher top end speed. There is also the issue of...

    APC Thin experiences

What I have found with the APC props in general and the SF props in particular is the massive amount of flashing left on the prop leading AND trailing edges. I spend a good 5 minutes or more per prop filing down the edges and rounding the tips before I balance them. Once they have been cleaned...

    High amp power distribution board

"Our owner said he flew a Sky Jib rig with 30 lbs total weight for 7min with no heat build up on the board, if that helps." Well, one certainly can't argue with science! $380 for that? I'm in the wrong business. I thought I had seen some massive ripoffs in this multicopter game, but this...
