could you not just swap motor connections to the FC ? if motor one spins CCW and motor 2 spins CW , and the FC wants motor one to me CW, then just swap them around ?

interesting thread, one of my boys loves filming/photography (does alot of my youtube fiming now - he was given the "big balls" award on the OP forum, as he dosent flinch when i am flying nearby and he just concentrates on the shot) , an i want to photograph all of the region i live in...

or a small 2S/3S lipo, with a BEC powering up the FC , that way no danger of the props spinning and turning appendages into bait

Thanks Bart, i hadnt really thought that part thru, havent had an issue yet, but i can see how it happens - think i will go to two piece mounts :)

i did my mounts on a 3D printer, they clamp a 12mm tube, and the holes are 19mm apart (motor size) , one piece keeps em together, and the plastic flexes enough to make a really firm grip on the carbon tube - maybe usefull ?

the results would be worse with the props on, if its a lower prop that has the issue, as it will freewheel and effectively block a very big %age of the thrust from the upper motor if its an upper motor that dies, the results would be alot better a true hex dosent have that issue (no lower...

Its a big decision, when I went into building for others it was a very stressful 12 months. Stopped flying for fun. You spend hours building and if you were stupid enough to offer an ardupilot as part of the package, hours tuning/fighting it Happy to be out of it ( and so is my wife/kids)...
