Thats a good sized quad. I personally woukd go with a 6 to 7 inch plate as you have enough space. If you make the plates small with a large motor spacing you put alot of stress on the arms where they meet the centre A large centre alows you to mount all your gear nicely. Sent from my...

Interesting point - about losing control and it flying away That would make a case for using non-autonomous flight controllers ( no gps position hold ) and making sure your fail safe is set to cut the motors. That way if you loose control it will drop to the ground within your "controlled...

its exactly that Teamflail - if the lower motor fails and the prop is allowed to free wheel, it will react to the air from the top prop and act effectively like a solid disc. the only way around is to stagger the props so that they only partially overlap this vid dosent show the the bottom...

I think that you will find that the rules that apply to helis dont apply to multirotors, very different blades and set-up its just going to be a balancing act, getting enough static thrust out of a higher KV motor, on a pitchy prop to have enough thrust to take off thinking about my ritewing...

nah, its fine its actually showing responsible use, flying in a controlled enviroment, and any humans in the field of fire are wearing protective gear.

i dont have an issue with it - its an AR drone for a start, light weight, designed to be flown in close proximity, and its a non military/non spy use of a piece of hardware, shows a fun use for a multi to Joe public. the only thing i would like to see is a light weight shroud around the props
