UK Multirotor Forums Meet 15/16th September 2012

I'm sure you people are going to enjoy a brilliant W/E. Unfortunately I cannot be there and I am going to miss out on an awful amount. But I look forward to hearing about and seeing the 'stuff' that will emerge afterwards on this forum. Hopefully I will make the next one.

Zero UAV Zero UAV YS-X6 [Owners Thread] *Autopilot system for multirotors*

Ditto nicwike....no problems at all with the H/W and F/W (apart from the self-inflicted ones) once I had interpreted the very badly written manuals. Kit = superb, Manuals = crap.

    Dji F450--2900 ft--360 spin

I'm not totally sure what that means...I can only guess.

Zero UAV Zero UAV YS-X6 [Owners Thread] *Autopilot system for multirotors*

Chris, I had a small number of problems at the start but many of them were self-inflicted. However try as I might I am unable to get used to touch and swipe screens...They seemd to aimed at people perhaps a lot younger than me and have enjoyed a rececent past using smartphones, etc.. I do though...

    Dji F450--2900 ft--360 spin

I have to agree with most, if not all, of the negative responses to the original post. I genuinely believe that there are individual people and people within organisations out there who, for many different reasons, will want to influence and effect how our small hobby 'world' operates...

DJI S800 Product Bulletin - ESC too high temperature

I have just sent an email to DJI copying the repair dealer in Switzerland on these 'issues' requesting more detail... 1) Are the ESCs being replaced or repaired (who makes the decision to do what) 2) My MC was ordered by me via a UK dealer before 30/08/2011 suggesting that it was built before...

DJI S800 Product Bulletin - ESC too high temperature

Boris...same as. From what I can'see' here the whole DIY process sounds complex, difficult to complete perfectly, lengthy in time and requires additional tools...opportunities to make lots of mistakes. I'm sending all the arms/booms complete but minus the props to a pre-defined organisation in...

    SBus question

Flyingbiscuit, I use futaba 6203SBs' successfully on 3 different machines. Mine get their power as you have suggested through the SB cable from the FCs'. I'm sure there is not much difference between the 6208 and the 6203 in terms how they are powered. David

    Battery tray for DJI s800

Although it is great that people have found a supplier of suitable battery trays for the S800 and I realy do hope that they work as required. However I was originally somehow led to believe that a battery tray will be as part of the S800. I was then led to believe that the tray will not be...

    Another power distribution thread

Bart, Jonathan, my post replies are merely to inform on what I developed at one time for simplicity, cost effectiveness, weight/current carrying capability effectiveness, etc. and due to the absence of higher current capacity dis-boards easily available in the market place. I had no need to...

    Another power distribution thread

Bart, please see the following 2 pics...Weight and dimension are... Individual washer weight : 4grams. Washer dia.: 29mm. Washer length : 47mm. Washer centre hole dia : 20mm. Washer small hole dia : 6mm. Washer thickness : 1mm. When the two washers are overlaid on each other as shown in the...

    Another power distribution thread

Bart, the variety of Banjo washers that I used are very similar to the type used in hydraulic joints just as you have suggested. I've got a couple of the type that I used (not made up as a Dis-ring) lying around somewhere so I'll record their dimensions, take a couple of pics and see if I can...

    Another power distribution thread

I addressed this problem once before and it worked well but was really overkill for my needs...It would easily carry 100A+. I don't own the MR anymore so unfortunately I cannot take any pictures to show. Purchase 4 brass Banjo washers, 2 for positive and 2 for negative. Seat each Banjo pair on...

    Battery combinations and connectors

I now use the EC5s on all my battery connections. The interference fit is quite strong so they have to be tugged quite forcefully to seperate them...however if soldered correctly the conductor insulation goes slightly into the coonector shroud. They (apparently) will also carry 90A with ease.

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Jes111, I'm not sure that I can make that happen. I hope I am not being unfair and too harsh in my thinking here but the culture seems to be (certainly from my limited experience) that they will initiate and drive any discussion or dialogue, etc. not someother person. At the moment they sort of...

    S800 Gain Settings

Boris, how on earth did you get the props from DJI...I've got a broken one , so I called (phoned) them and they effectively told me I've got to wait (I think that means go away and don't bother me at this moment) until the spares become available from the dealers because they will not be selling...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

DJI contacted me to confirm my camera type (Nex 5N), the Zenmuse will be geared for the 'pancake' lens and that it will not operate as it should if I placed a different lens on the camera...I guess due to balancing, etc.. Fortunately I have a 'pancake' lens that I use already so I do not have to...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Maybe we in the UK do not receive stuff on 'tinternet' at the same level as others...I've just viewed their website and I cannot see anything that suggests that the GH2 is not being supported anymore, only the Nex 5-7 with a 16mm lens...or should I view another secret site somewhere known only...

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Ed, thanks for that...where is it in the manual ? it is one of three here...my eyesight, my age and/or both. It doesn't appear to be entirely true then with the reply info from RCTimer.

DJI Zenmuse gimbal and S800 Spreading Wings preorder

Does anyone out there know the pitch of the S800 props ? Maybe I cannot see the wood for the trees but all the DJI material informs that they are 15" and mad3e4 of carbon....thats it. I unfortunately broke one and after 3 emails to DJI with no replies I decided to call them and they inform that...
