I use a 7.4v BEC power the Gimbal and 5.8ghz A/V hard wired to the main power loom. I also use a 5v BEC to power my GoPro Hero3. If you carry an extra battery it is just extra weight and the power draw from the gimbal doesn't appear to impact on flight times. Mind I use an 8000mAh 14.8v.

I have 2 and once set up they are very reliable and very good. No issues or problems = No posts.... ;-)

Yes so it is not a Ground Station until there is way-point or live control via either 2.4Ghz or 900mhz.

Are you using the DJI TX? If not you don't connect to the NAZA at all. The instructions make it look like you use the F2 on the NAZA but in fact you should connect directly to your RX channel so you can allocate that channel to your pot on the TX.

Well finally loaded it all onto my phantom but haven't flown it yet. It makes the whole machine 1.13Kg so will kill flight times but have a cunning plan to try my 3330mah lipos..... making it 1.25kg..... Is that going to be too heavy now? Watch this space for flight testing soon.
