    Batteries in the US

That's the first thing I did, kloner. They were all in a good range. They are actually the batteries I use for my FPV quad, so I guess the term "laying around" wasn't really appropriate. ;-)

    Batteries in the US

I ran some tests last night and realized that I can get 6 1/2 minutes out of 2 of my 2200 mah batteries ran in parallel. That's more than enough time for me to get the job done since I've got 12 of those laying around. Combined with the other Nanotech's I've got, I should be plenty good. Just in...

Coming soon to a multirotor near you...

That's very interesting, Ken. Looks very promising, but I wonder why they would go with wi-fi for their downlink? Seems rather limited on the range. I would guess 100m is best case. Can't wait to see more from this though. Maybe a little competition will kick DJI into gear! -Terry

    Batteries in the US

Ahhh.. HobbyPartz.com That's who I was trying to think of when I posted this. Thanks, Ken. It doesn't look like they have Blue Lipos in the size I need. Ever deal with the Gens Ace packs? I found this that looks close. http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-25c-5500-3s1p.html -Terry

    Batteries in the US

Hey gang, I need to order a few extra batteries for a small real estate job I have coming up. Normally I will order Nanotech 3s 6000 mah from the HobbyKing US warehouse, but they seem to be all sold out of anything even close to that. Who else in the US would have something simular at a...

    Remzibi OSD

I only hit home again to get rid of the "MAXIMUM" message that comes up after a certain number of minutes. Do you know anything about that? It's kinda nice cause it gives me max speed and distance, but it's kind fo a pain at the same time. -Terry

    Remzibi OSD

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to check this out when I get home today. It's strange though, I've been using 2 of these for well over a year now and never once noticed any type of excessive heat. I wonder if they have been updated in the last 16 months and it's no longer an issue? You would...

    Remzibi OSD

Hey Ken, I was referring to 4s voltage monitor. I'm going to have to really look for this heat issue the next time I go flying. I've been using these for over a year now and never noticed an issue. If I do see the effects, where would I find info on this copper wire mod you mentioned? -Terry

    Remzibi OSD

Hey Malcr001, I've actually got 2 of these OSD's at this point. I use one on my FPV sport quad and the other on my AP ship. I haven't had any heat issues, but I'll keep your comment in mind if it springs up in the future. Just curious, did you find that the heat issues happened when using 4s...

While I wait for the S800 and the Z15

I'm in the process of building something very simular. How is this working for you? Shot any video yet?

A few videos and photos from my DJI F550 with Aeroxcraft gear and my Sony Nex5n

Looking good for a fixed mount, Bella. Do you have any photos of the rig itself? I ordred the same set for my build and they should be shipping out today.

    Grab and go FPV

I push mine away from the frame like you, but I went straight back instead of up. I've got a small rod that pushes about 11 inches back from the center part of the frame and the antenna rides that length before coming off the very end. I'll post a photo when I get home. I had the same idea...

    Grab and go FPV

kloner, I think I need to pick your brain one day about what I might be doing wrong. I went out yesterday and was able to get 500 feet max with that set up. At this point, I've changed every single piece of the puzzle at one point or another, but can't seem to get anywhere near that range.

    Grab and go FPV

I'm running a very simular set up. I've got my F450 with FlyCam 925's controlled by an OpenPilot CC board. I'm using the original FatShark goggles with the built in 5.8ghz. I keep it charged during the week and take FPV lunch breaks when the weather is working. I bumped up to the new 600 mw...

DJI f550 motor question - good, bad, indifferent???

Your motors get up to 200 f? Only a matter of time before something fails with temps like that. Watch out for that NEX7! ;-)

DJI f550 motor question - good, bad, indifferent???

Hey Jack, I just picked one up and I'm going with the Avrotos. The DJI motors may be ok from a mechanical standpoint, but the problem I have with them is the proprietary hub design. It's like the XAircraft motors (which I think you had at one time like myself) and takes special DJI props...

VIO pov hd, Any one use it?

That's cool. Just send me a PM if your interested. From what I've seen, it's easier to replace the lens on the 2 than the original. The nice thing with the rage cam is that you can focus it without taking it apart again. Search YouTube and they have install videos on there. Pretty simple actually.

    DJI S800 unbox

I have to admit, I was doubting this model for a while, but I'm really changing my mind. I still want to see it in use, but it really seems to be shaping up nicely. The cost of the model itself is not what is so bad, it's the total package with the gimbal that's expensive. I guess you could...
