More bad news, Droider's shop fire

Thank god Dave's injuries were not any worse. So sorry to hear this, and I hope you get back on your feet asap. I'm now going out to buy a fire extinguisher and more lipo storage for my workshop.

    New Canon PowerShot N

It looks like everyone is getting in on the built in wifi action now. Canon just announced a new powershot today at CES that looks pretty interesting. http://mashable.com/2013/01/07/canon-poweshot-n/

    XAircraft Is xaircraftUSA in business

If I were a betting man, I'd say he is now out of business. This site isn't even up anymore, and he ran the business out of his house, so that's the same as hanging an "Out of business" sign on a brick and mortar shop. Jeff was a really nice guy to talk to, but he just seemed to get in over...

    Help with a new gimbal

Hey gang. I've got something that I can't seem to figure out and was hoping to get some fresh perspective from the group. I bought a new gimbal from CopterFrames.com for my NEX. This is the first time I've used one that has incorporated the potentiometer hack. It's a 2 to 1 reduction belt...

    S800 Instability

I just saw a few folks on rcg reporting the same problem in the wookong thread yesterday.

Manuel Santos, XFC pilot, and now a A/V Extraordinaire!

Yeah, that one took us all by surprise. Everyone says the exact same thing, he was the nicest person. I'll see you around here I'm sure. We are going to try and organize an east coast meet up in the spring if your interested. Details to come. -Terry

    Bootcamp for mac...help

I used parallels to install XP instead. I think I had the same issue as you, so I went that route and it turned out good. If you download the demo from their site, you can usually get a good serial number for it from the most recent Serial Box release. Good luck! In the end, I just grabbed a...

Manuel Santos, XFC pilot, and now a A/V Extraordinaire!

Nice one. I believe we've been booked at some of the same events around Baltimore over the years. I used to live and work in the studio with Jason Belote (Sun) from Ultraworld. Small world. Good to see you in here.

RC Timer extended Flame wheel arms

I've been using the Avroto short shafts with the 550 since I first built it. Originally, much like yourself I think, I had extended the arms out to a 650 size with some carbon fiber extensions I designed and had cut out. When I first ordered these new arms, I had the hopes of just replacing what...

Nice shot, J! That's the Key Bridge in the background, right?

RC Timer extended Flame wheel arms

I actually never intended to put it on the 450, but they do look cool on there. That was actually just a spare frame I had hanging on the wall as decoration. Originally, I got these to use on my F550 which would make it the same size as an S800. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I have to...

RC Timer extended Flame wheel arms

They only have one size listed on their site right now. They also offer this as a whole frame kit with their clone F550 frame hubs. If you order the arms alone, but sure to order screws. They don't use the standard DJI screws, it's one size larger.

RC Timer extended Flame wheel arms

I jut got a set of the RC timer extended arms. They seem pretty nice so far, but I'll revisit this after I've actually flown with them. They are much longer, and surprisingly have less flex, than the originals. I put them in an old 450 frame I had laying around it it increased the motor to...

Some Still images GP hero 2

Not trying to argue with you, but it's not much more than 60 feet if that. I've been using that lens to take thousands of photos for over 2 1/2 years now and know how to read the height of the photos. No where near 150-200. It can be very deceiving from the ground, but the photos tell all.

Some Still images GP hero 2

The go pro lens can be very deceiving when t comes to altitude or distance. I'd say that you are about 50-60 feet there. The lens makes everything seem far away, and that can include the ground which makes it tricky to tell the exact height.

    My New Build Room

Even though I had a ton of things on my to-do list, I couldn't bring myself to work on anything in the workshop. I just recently came up with a new idea on how it should be laid out, so fixing the room before starting any actual work was the only thing on my mind. It turned into a new layout for...

DJI Will Release iPad Ground Station and iPhone WKM Assistant Software

If the iOS version works out, I'm sure they would release an Android version. Neither the Ground Station or the Assistant software have a live feed, you would have to set up your own FPV for that.
