I've been waiting for more development on a system like this. I don't understand how the chute is deployed though. What is the trigger? Is he manually flipping something on his radio to deploy it, or does the copter have some way of knowing when it's in trouble and it deploys automatically?

I'm pretty sure they are spamming everyone that posts regularly. I got hit by fpvmodel-kimi a few days back. It's extra annoying considering that they have a post count of zero. I wouldn't mind the spam so much if it was someone that at least contributed to the community.

At that point, you will simply have to hold on to your older hardware with the correct firmware if you want to avoid it.

I just saw this over at the DJI website. Anyone know anything about this "height limit" that is mentioned on the page? Is that a limit you can place on the aircraft itself? Would be an easy way to ensure we stay inside of FAA guidelines if so. (below 400 feet)...

I used some small standoffs I had from some old copter, but I think I need to get some taller ones. As it is now, my mini usb cable is blocked by part of the frame.

That's not jello, it's just what happens when you post stabilize a video shot with a fish eye lens. I assume you used a GoPro for this, and at the time of the "jello" you were rocking the craft back and forth to demonstrate the gimbal?

I got mine installed and updated while waiting for hurricane sandy to blow through. This is the second time I've built a quad during a hurricane. So far so good, but I haven't done anything more than a test hover in the garage. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to take it out to the flying...

We personally got off easy. Never even had a flicker on the lights at our house, but downtown around the water they got hit pretty hard. I'm not complaining about to 2days off work though.
