Xoar precision pairs on Cinestar 8

I just received some Xoar precision pair props (wood) for my Cinestar 8. Each pair is very close in weight, and there is one CW and one CCW. My thinking was, "I'll put one on one boom, and the other on the opposite boom, then repeat." But in an octo, the opposite motor across spins in the...

Source for Xoar precision pairs in USA?

I'm trying to find a good price on some Xoar precision pair wooden props. I'm looking for 5 pairs of the 14x4 size for a Cinestar 8 with QC-3328 motors. I want 5 pairs because I like to keep a spare pair. The best price I've seen in Europe is about $37. Anyone seen prices close to this in...

If you need an HDMI converter...

A quick bit of backstory... I found a HDMI to standard-def converter board for my gimbal. I needed one in order to send the HDMI signal from a camera (Panasonic GH2), to an Iftron transmitter, so we can frame our shots and be sure that camera is recording properly. It has been a great setup...

    Cinestar 8 and Hoverfly Pro

Here's a link to our new reel shot with a Cinestar 8 and Hoverfly Pro board: Check it out and let me know what you think. Two things to mention. First, most of the shots have no post stabilization. Second, the shots were all done while flying in manual mode. I think you guys will dig it...

Hoverfly Just got "Auto-Level" working - WOW!

We've been shooting video with a Cinestar 8 and a Hoverfly Pro for the past couple of weeks and have been very happy with the results, while only using the manual flying mode. This evening I finally had some time and calm weather to get the "auto-level" feature set up. Wow! Talk about flying...

Hoverfly Altitude Hold - best I can get is slowly dropping

I'm having trouble getting altitude hold to work effectively. I've tried several settings, but the best I can get it to do is to drop slowly. I've got a piece of foam covering the altitude sensor right now to block it from light. Any recommendations? Thanks! -Benjamin Rowland

    Smooth TILT on Cinestar gimbal...

My camera op and I are currently fine tuning a Cinestar gimbal, and I'm looking for tips on how to smooth out the tilt axis. I have got the tilt axis set up on my camera op's throttle stick. So far, I've added throttle delay, set the end points to limit the range of motion to only what we...

I'm looking for insurance for my aerial photography business. I've found a company that will do liability, but they don't cover equipment (despite the fact that they claim to on their website). Can anyone suggest a company in the U.S. that will give me a policy for liability and equipment...

    Hoverfly Praise for Hoverfly...

Just a quick word of praise for Hoverfly. I'm in the middle of building a Cinestar 8 with the Hoverfly Pro board, and the customer support from Hoverfly has been spectacular. I wanted to set my CS8 up in "+" configuration. I asked for this addition (along with a couple of other people I...

    Cinestar 6 vs Cinestar 8

I'm looking for pros and cons of the Cinestar 6 vs Cinestar 8. From what I've found so far, the 8 can lift a bit more. The 6 is about 4 inches smaller, so slightly easier to transport. The 8 might offer a bit of security if an engine died, but the fact that there are 2 more engines...
