I've had similar problems with the Martinez board that I think is caused by slight movement when the power is connected. It operates fine, but doesn't seem to know what is level. It has to be completely still while it initializes. I was hoping the Alexmos works better.

I do like how HFP flies , but I would love to have a solid GPS for a reliable return home function and an altitude hold that doesn't yo-yo up and down about fifteen feet. Other than that it's pretty solid and they're provided good customer service, so it's sad to see them disengage.

I asked Ben at Hoverfly a while ago about 6S and he said there is a workaround. You could use a 3S or 4S to run the board and power the motors with 6S. Seems simple enough.

I've used the same Cinestar 8 in a +octo mode and an X mode (after broken booms from a crash) and it works well. However with the exact same configuration it will not fly as an X hex. Any suggestions would be appreciated and apologies for the cross posting. I'm in a remote area and desperate.

thanks guys. I was lucky to have two clockwise and two counter-clockwise props. Paul, you were right, the crazy yaw was coming from a prop that was not level. The quad X is flying very well now. The motors get hot, the ESCs warm, but it's getting the job done. Thanks so much for the help!

Earl, That is definitely not normal for HFP. I can't think what could be happening. It seems your throttle input is varying with the wind. I certainly have more than 4-6 feet of variation in AH when it's windy, but it's rock solid in manual. Good Luck!

That's interesting. My HFP is very stable when not in Altitude Hold mode. I find AH works very well when there's no wind, but assumed that due to the changes in pressure with wind gusts it could not work very easily in wind. Also in AH mode the throttle works very differently with altitude...

I've been trying to download the Pro setup client for months. I can run it from their website, but haven't been able to download it for the times when I don't have internet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I did contact HF and they're certainly trying to help, which is appreciated, but we did not resolve the issue. I don't have plans to put it back on any time soon....

Quick update: I pulled the GPS board and it flies perfectly once again. Anybody have any suggestions?
