Looking for advice: gimbal with 2,5kg payload

Get one of the larger Famoushobby units (BG003/BG004) with our Centerpiece HV controller. It's going to cost a lot less than the other options and perform significantly better.

UPDATED!: Gremsy gStabi H6 initial Thoughts & Handheld Test (Video)

Just use Google Drive. It's the best in my opinion for upload/download speed, and you can share the link with anyone.

UPDATED!: Gremsy gStabi H6 initial Thoughts & Handheld Test (Video)

24-45? Couldn't find any lens at this range. What's the name of it? How did you think it compared to the M5?

What lens were you running? What was the focal length?

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

Awesome post @econfly, definitely on the money. But what choice do manufacturers have? Look at NAB: Freefly announced four or five products, none of which can be shipped for months. Blackmagic announced an insane number of products - easily 20 - and again, I bet most of them aren't ready to...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

I'd very neutrally advise everyone not to buy anything for multirotor use before you see aerial footage. Handheld use and multirotor use are two completely distinct applications - something can look great on the ground but horrible in the air for a variety of reasons (damping, lack of controller...

    My brushless gimbal result

What the gimbal does on the table and what it will do in the air are very distinct things. You can detune a gimbal to a point there are no vibrations and it seems to be working, but the gains will be simply too low for doing anything meaningful. Give it a try in the air and lets see.

    Researching a Gimbal for a BMPCC (t810).

I don't know what exactly were the nature of your problems (not dismissing them in any way), but electronics don't need to be retuned unless the mechanics change in any way. And this is our main problem today: no availability of high end, consistent mechanics to go with our controller.

    Researching a Gimbal for a BMPCC (t810).

Ask those who said "the Phobotic board needs tweaking" to show you better videos with their Alexmos setups ;) I'd also like to hear of anyone with a Phobotic board who went back to Alexmos. There's no controller that you can purchase today with this level of performance or tuning ability...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Yea this video has been out there for a long time, but the claim is so outlandish (240mm) and so out of sync with the other videos I saw that it's difficult to take it seriously. From what I've seen, the Movi is a touch worse than a Z15, but of course much better from a user perspective. The...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Jim, from what I see I'm really not sure the Movi would outperform your setup. The video posted shows it won't (although can't really compare different setups, the Movi has pretty minimal settings anyway). The Movi video was filmed with what appears to be a 12mm lens. Check this out, with the...

Anyone got any recent, raw Movi M5 footage in aerial use? I couldn't find too many of these online.

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

Exactly that. I've been a huge BMPCC fan from its beginning, we used it a lot for testing. Now this form factor + global shutter? Man...

Pre ordered as well. We have some interesting plans here!

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Isn't the Defy G2X just another Alexmos based gimbal? Anyway aerial stabilization is vastly different to handheld stabilization (something we've been saying for long and people are learning the hard way). Most manufacturers focus on handheld because its a vastly bigger market and much simpler...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

Manufacturers can do an "Apple" an not disclose anything until it's on store shelves, but: 1. I suspect that people who bother reading - let alone participating - in these threads appreciate some ongoing updates 2. In many cases, you want to get the word out just to assess the interest (now...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

I think that the correct way to look at it is that we've created a product that wipes the floor with the competition (seen the 65mm video in the other forum yet?), and after releasing it we've found an issue that appears on a minority of the systems. We have suggested a simple interim fix, while...

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

Tom, obviously the change regarding the F1 has been disappointing for us as well, but we stand behind the decision to terminate it. The F1 was further down the development process, so the new unit (not named with an F) will take more time than the F1 would have.

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

It's an open dialogue rather than any kind of promise. Promise is after you pay money and the manufacturer has to deliver a product; until then, plans constantly change (and its not limited to the RC world by any means).

    Phobotic Centerpiece Brushless Gimbal Controller

I agree about the need for a smaller gimbal. This is why we specced the F1 the way we did in the first place - my requirement was that it would fit, at most, a GH4 and be as compact and light as possible. The reason we didn't bring it forward had nothing to do with the market - it was a decision...
