DJI Naza lite compared to Normal Naza

Hey Guys, I'm going to have to disagree, in part, but this is based on my experience and exstensive testing... your results will obviously vary. First off, I find no difference between the Naza-m and Naza-m Lite other than the software, and that you can't run an octo with the Lite. Now I can...

    Naza M V2 vs Naza M-Lite

Thanks for the feedback!! Have you looked at the XAircraft SuperX? I'd be interested in your opinion. I think I'm going to buy one in the next couple of hours. Thanks Again!! Anthony

    Naza M V2 vs Naza M-Lite

The one thing that worries me (besides the lack of direct support) with the NAZA systems is the Fly-Away issues that have been reported. I had 2 such incedents almost happen to me... and I say almost because I was able to hard land the MR, and by that I mean it hit some bushes before it could...

    Naza M V2 vs Naza M-Lite

Hello ryhza Not to be argumentative, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that video doesn't prove anything to me. When someone tells you that "here's proof" or a video intro states that what follows is proof of something... that is a technique that uses the seeding of a...

    Naza M V2 vs Naza M-Lite

I own and fly both as well, and other than the software, I don't see that one is better than the other.

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

Thanks for the reply! I understand that, what I don't know is how the X8, in particular, works to control yaw. If the 2 motors on each arem had opposing rotation and were at the same RPM, all things being equal, they would cancel each other out from a torque standpoint. So initially I thought...

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

So if each motor on each arm is rotating in opposite directions, how do you control yaw? Does the FC know how to handle that? I thought that you would have each motor on each arm rotating in the same direction in which case controlling yaw would be the same as with a fat setup. I guess all...

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

I'm not on trial, so I don't have to do any of that stuff. I don't care what anyone thinks about my level of knowledge, that isn't a factor in my life at all. I was doing some research and read this line "how is a two motor weight any different from two motors on two adjacent arms?" And I...
  9. Q

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

The lift forces on the arms/booms are far greater than the standing weight. The weight on the arms/booms while sitting on the ground, is not the issue, once the motors lift the craft and its payload the stress on the airframe then becomes a real factor. During turbulence, or erratic control...

    DJI, SBUS, and 8 motors?????

Well Guys, When everything is said and done, I found a solution. First of all, my gimbal controller doesn't need any help from NAZA, it works all by itself. So it will keep my camera stable on its own. Now I can just take my extra CH5 and just plug the gimbal into that and everything works...

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

No Proof required, it is simple logic. Our gear may be strong enough not to worry about any failures of this type, but my answer is still absolutely true to the question being asked. As a full scale pilot, we learn early on about the dangers of turbulence and the additional stresses it places...
  12. Q

X8 vs. flat octo redundancy comparison.

One thing for sure is that you are putting more weight and more flight stress on fewer arms. Unless you increase the strength of each arm (now 4 arms have to carry the load and stress of turbulance that 8 use to) it could lead to catastrophic results.

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Quick Update: Even though I'm a filmmaker (one of my businesses) and have lots of buds with RED cameras, I think I will lower my requirements for this next build to carry an Up To 10lb camera and gimbal combo for 20min... I'll build a RED platform once I get more demand for it. Thanks Again ...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Hi Peter, No evidence of proper engineering and design?? There was no attempt at proper engineering and design :highly_amused: But seriously, I didn't know where to start, so I just started experimenting and as always, I learn as I go. Look at my reply to SleepyC for an explanation of my...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Hi :tennis: I'm willing to put in the investment, I just don't want to throw money down the drain, which is why I'm researching. When I decided to do this, I purchased a DJI Phantom with Gimbal, GoPro, and FPV setup to learn on. So I taught myself to fly and then I immediately tore the...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Yes, yes I agree, much more research, but I already have a good start thanks to you and others that have offered their comments, so thank you, I appreciate it!! It may seem simplistic, but I totally get the "You need better low kv motors, much bigger props, bigger batteries at 6s, bigger escs...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Hello SleepyC, Thanks for the feedback. Once I built the octo (my first build) I realized that I probably built a great GoPro platform. I do want to get the most out of what this is though. My ESCs will handle 4S but the motors (as you can see from the link) only list that they can be used...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

Hello Everyone :nevreness: My goal is to build an octocopter that will be able to lift a 15lb to 25lb payload and fly for at least 15 minutes (hopefully more). The problem I’m having is with reading the specs of the components. Some are only in Chinese, some are inaccurate, and there...

ESC and Motors - Exceeding Maximums - Close Calls

Hello Everyone :-) I had a quick scare while testing my new octo build and I wanted to run it by you for your feedback. I was testing the octo for the first time with all of the props attached and I was doing a run-up. Everything seemed to be fine until I ran through my amp/watt monitor and...
