In a Pickle... Advice Much Appreciated.

Smootheye, I forgot to mention that for FPV I am using a Devo 7 transmitter and the Storm FPV Combo from HeliPal. I just checked their web site and see that the screen I bought apparently is not offered anymore. Mine has two receiver antennas and has a built-in rechargeable battery (highly...

In a Pickle... Advice Much Appreciated.

With this setup I don't get any rotors in the video frame unless I tilt the camera nearly all the way up or heavily nose it over. Check out a clip of my flight from this afternoon. At several points I had the stick all the way forward.

In a Pickle... Advice Much Appreciated.

Smootheye, I put cheap plastic gear (M200 Carefree Crab landing gear) from Hobby King International on my F550 and a Tarot 2D gimbal under the nose for my Hero 3. Added a PMU and iOSD to my NAZA V2 and downlinking with a Boscam 600mW transmitter. With a Zippy 4C 8000mAH LiPo I'm at about 5.6lbs...

    what Gimble

Just received a Tarot T2D. Installed it on a DJI F550 with a NAZA M controller and DEVO7 transmitter and receiver. Finally figured out how to get the gimbal to tilt today using the X2 knob on the transmitter. Step 1: hook receiver's AUX1 cable out to X2 on the Naza. Leave X1 connector blank...

Naza M Lite with Devo 7 transmitter

You need to connect the GPS puck via the grey wire to the EXP input on the NAZA. The connector goes in flat across the top right next to the LED connector. You have the external LED controller unit with the word VSEN/GND/X3 wired correctly because the LED is flashing. Once you get the GPS puck...

Commercial sUAS petition is live at Whitehouse.gov

It has been rather amusing to see the omnipotent FAA, who believes that they should be able to make a "policy", say jump, and everyone will ask how high...only to have their policies challenged and slapped down in the courts. The latest case involved Texas Equusearch Mounted Search and Recovery...

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:TargetScreenSize>800x600</o:TargetScreenSize> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> The following were my comments/thoughts to the FAA regarding their so-called "interpertation"! ********** The FAA should separate UAS...

Commercial sUAS petition is live at Whitehouse.gov

I'm under no illusion "Old Man" that we can continue to live under zero regulation, I've been involved in aviation for 34-years. But we in this hobby are our own worst enemies. Look at all the crap that happened over the weekend all over this country. Guys flying into fireworks, stupid rich kids...

Commercial sUAS petition is live at Whitehouse.gov

Commercial sUAS petition is live at Whitehouse.gov

Bart, Just quickly scanned through CAP658 and I just can't bring myself to sign. In typical European fashion, its just too much regulation in my opinion. I really think this whole issue could be greatly simplified by dividing UAS operations into three separate, distinctive categories: small...

Send Your Comments To The FAA on Model Aircraft Rules

http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=FAA-2014-0396-0001 Don't miss this opportunity to voice your opinion on the omnipotent FAA's "Interpretation of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft" operations. It is clearly obvious that the FAA is not going to follow the guidance outlined by...

And they worry about our chit falling from the sky!

The sky is definitely falling according to the omnipotent FAA, even though there has NOT been a single collision of a UAS and manned helicopter in the US since at least 2000.

Naza M Lite with Devo 7 transmitter

Thought I had this fixed but it turns out I only get full up or full down control with the X2 knob of the transmitter through the X1 channel. I even tried the directions on HeliPal's F550 site which shows AUX1 from the receiver to X2 on the NAZA and AUX2 to X1 (but in the same picture they don't...

Naza M Lite with Devo 7 transmitter

Nick, I'm using a Devo 7 with a NAZA-M and can't figure out how to configure the pitch control on my gimbal, a Quantum Q-2D. I suspect I'm missing a programming step in the transmitter. Connections check: AUX1 & 2 on Devo RX701 to X1 & 2 on NAZA. Bottom pin on NAZA F1 to "PIT" or tilt socket...
