Don't miss this opportunity to voice your opinion on the omnipotent FAA's "Interpretation of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft" operations. It is clearly obvious that the FAA is not going to follow the guidance outlined by Congress in Public Law 112 Section 336, and wishes to regulate our hobby extensively. They only have to go through the motions of a public comment period before going ahead and drafting the new rules they perceive are needed "to protect the National Airspace system.":livid: They have taken the position that FPV will be banned. I suspect this is because the suits in Washington have somehow reached the conclusion that FPV is dangerous when in fact it adds a level of safety to our hobby that is unprecedented. Unfortunately, we as hobbyist have given them a considerable arsenal of cases of basic rule and common sense violations by posting these videos to YouTube. But we need to let this budget hungry agency know that the vast majority of us fly responsibly, don't violate airspace rules, don't operate in proximity to manned aircraft, nor operate in a way that is a danger to persons on the ground.
The bottom line is voice your opinion by sending in a comment. As of today, the number of comments is up to 2046 with only 95 comments actually posted on their site. This shows me they are overwhelmed. So speak your mind before July 25, or forever hold your piece!:)
