No only use one lipo for everything, but spur off from the main power source i.e with ubec or similar to power vtx or completly separate the two systems entirely with a separate lipo. But if you do it this way be careful to to get any ground loops...

As they say assumption is the Mother of all F ups, you may well be right that it is o.k? but I wouldn`t chance it.. Especially if you have a component go down on your cam or VTX and it sends 16v through the system.. Always isolate other systems from your main flight control, thats the principal...

O.K that makes perfect sense to me.. The reason you have the problem with yaw on 3s is because the smaller props running at a lower max RPM will have less torque than if you used the 10" props on 3s.. So if you use 3s stick the 10" on 4s use 8" As for the instability I am still thinking about...

O.K What I tend to do for the IOC is stick it on a two position switch so that you cannot go wrong as you only have OFF and COURSE LOCK then create a mix that changes that same switch into OFF and HOME LOCK or whatever your preference when another switch is switched if that makes sense? Just so...

I helped someone today saying the IOC was not working? but the problem was he was not setting it by switching between off and course lock 3 times first... After he understood this of course it worked everytime. Also out of interest have you tried failsafe using 4s lipo?

Ohh sorry? I thought the problem was with some shaking when rtl was activated and general instability... Didn`t read all of the thread:shame:

It can be difficult to understand? The motors will take a 10" on 3s and use the 8" on 4s the smaller prop on the 4s is to keep the amps down so as not to burn out the motor, on an airplane this all is quite simple and can be stuck to, however when using a multi-rotor with a stabilisation system...

The reason is the same as I suggested, the props were too big for 3s so couldn`t react to error quick enough... Now you have 4s the motors can spin the prop quicker and easier, You can try my suggestion of adjusting the pitch and roll basic gains to get the smooth failsafe or RTL? I am not...

Not saying higher for sure? I know it sounds a bit vague:shame: as I cannot remember if they ned to go up or down? But the shaking when in auto mode i.e rtl is caused by the pitch and roll basic gains.. As for the shake whilst decsending that can be reduced by using advanced parameters pitch...

It`s the gains that cause the wobble on failsafe or rtl.. Just had someone else ask me this, I have answered it before but a long time ago and I couldn`t remember if they were too high or too low? but I think you need to raise the pitch and roll gains to get rid of that behaviour?
