Aeronavics / Droidworx Measuring motor angle Ad8HL

I've been flying the AD8 for a couple of years now on a wkm. It's performed beautifully but I've always had a yaw problem. If I yaw to the right it's all fine. If I yaw to the left it will carry on yawing for 10-20 degrees after I release the sticks. I've been able to live with this for a while...

    Bnuc-s

Interesting, thanks plingboot. I did try and carefully word the OM for such things and it went through without a hitch, so I guess I'm good for future updates. I'm still on very old WKM firmware anyway, flys beautifully and I don't trust any of the newer firmwares.

You don't need to include the manual, just specs on the wkm. What wind speed and temperatures it's rated to handle, stuff like that.

The template looks confusing, but as long as you cover all of the elements mentioned within it then you should be fine. I found the layout of the template a bit naff so just reworked it in a sensible manner and made sure I had covered everything they wanted to see. Remember, the operations...

Although still not perfect, I have managed to get the roll issue when tilting / panning pretty much sorted. I took the skyline off of the gimbal and set the levels up against a square, as you suggested. I still get the roll problem, but only by 1-2 degrees rather than the huge amount I was...

    Bnuc-s

Glidetech, As Andrew said, don't worry. The don't need cover for your exam, and you'll struggle to get any sensible quotes before you've passed. I think there is a fair few of us out there now with the Bnuc-s. I don't know how many people were there when you did the ground school, but we had...

Thank you, Mike. Much appreciated. I will give it another go later this evening and report back. Alex

No problem. Cant guarantee it will fix it for you though. On mine it was pulling too tight and warping the pulley wheel causing it to rub on the tilt servo housing. Try the opposite screw too. If that's done up even the slightest bit too tight it bites on the plastic washer.

I had this problem with the Av200 for quite a while. Jittering when coming back to level on the tilt tray. Turned out being the screw that locks the tray to the tilt pulley (not the screw that it rotates on, the one below it) was too tight. Also the axle the single screw on the opposite side...

I'm in the UK. I don't know what the cause was, I just repeated the set up procedure the same as I always do: using a spirit level app and manually tuning the servo centre points with the belt and gear disengaged. It just seemed to work that time. Never had that problem before and I've used the...

Im using firmware 1.2.2. I've managed after literally 5 hours of tweaking managed to get my roll to sit level. But it doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get the roll or pan to stay centred if the tray is tilted straight down. Ive adjusted the skyline itself so that its as close to level as I...

Hi Mike, Appreciate the help, thanks. I'll dial my servo tunes back to where they should be then. The only problem is now that when I set xy level it won't sit level when the servos are activated. I've tried offsetting and it will only ever sit like 7-10 degrees either side of centre on roll...

Need a bit of advice guys. I usually remove the belt and drive gear before setting my servo centre tune. I can usually get it so that the servos are dead still, very quiet and a barely crackling. After doing this, I reconnect the belt and drive gear and then set my xy level and my z level. I...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

The ops manual tells the CAA and clients (if they wish to read it) how you are going to operate. Things like how you assess a site to determine whether a flight is safe - the obvious such as pylons, trees, public access etc but also things like checking/posting NOTAMS and contacting local ATC's...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

I recently completed the BNUC-S and am waiting on my permission from the CAA. When I did my BNUC-S ground school I was told that if I updated the wookongs firmware I would have to re-test. I think that is a little ridiculous ...but then again maybe not with DJI's recent failings in the FW...

    Aeronavics / Droidworx AD8 HL & 360 gimbal

I fitted the stiffener plate and it hasn't made a blind bit of difference. I've been having a play with it and have found that by wedging some dense'ish foam between the base of the AD8 and the 360 battery tray (on the left and right hand sides) it damps out a lot of the movement. Not a...

Wookong-M Firmware* v5.14 (users and spec)

If you have jobs to fly/are flying commercially, then I would suggest that you fly one of the older thoroughly tested firmwares. The last thing you want to do is potentially ruin your reputation by chancing it with new firmware releases

How to calculate MTOM (maximum take off mass)

Are you Doms camera man? If so I'm Alex. Sat next to him on the ground school. Change the motor cooling to good. Your still over the motors limit at full throttle though.

How to calculate MTOM (maximum take off mass)

When did you do your ground school? The name Andrew rings a bell. Anyway, if your running two 5800 mah lipos in parallel then you've got 11600mah. So change that. Your motor specs are all out. The torxpower 3536 is a tiger motor clone with slight changes. I use them too. Select tiger...
