The new F1 Gimbal (Air Studio/Phobotic) for GH4 sized cameras

We've had lots of other matters to deal with lately so the F1 had to be on hold (as part of those matters are electronic modules used in the F1 that we are developing).
It's of course still on track for production. We used this time to make a significant design improvement based on our testing data so far.

Ok, this is quite understandable. Thank you for the update. Please say your best guess for ETA. A guess that we understand is not a promise.

Samur any plans to offer an optional handheld rig and quick release (like toad in the hole) for the F1? Would love to be able to go from aerial to ground rig quickly.

What is the weight of the gimbal, without camera?
Any idea what the price point is going to be?

We are constantly testing and iterating on the design according to external feedback. We shipped it to California for testers outside Phobotic to get some real world mileage. The footage is all that we hoped for, and we are now improving some convenience features. Still on track for a release this spring.

I'm sorry we're not more up front - as you all should know from Phobotic, we are willing to discuss what we develop but we don't sell what we don't have ready. Soon!

F1 mechanical developement is almost finished. Right we are focused on preparing everything to mass production. If all goes ok we will visit NAB 2015 :) and before that videos and photos will be released.

Possibly - those customers already owning CPs and intending to use the F1 with that, could buy the F1 without electronics and with a special mounting bracket for mounting their CP externally (the F1 has a new board that's housed internally)

[Edited to say it's possible, not certain, as we're still evaluating the commercial aspects... etc]

Good to hear. It'll be nice to have something that's been custom designed for the boards.
