it should force failsafe, but i'm talking about not starting the motors and walking around your yard with it. when the motors aren't running, failsafe is just a light flashing on the vu

It used to be you pushed in the bind button when you turned em on for spektrum, but dx8 is different

it should have some sort of calculation like when the radios on low like that, 1 foot equal a hundred feet at full power or whatever the manual says. it dims the 2.4 out of the tx so you can do a reasonable check. never check it the way you have, it makes the title of the thread a reality

I installed the filter and replaced by inverted Y antennae with the stock one and have not had any issues since then. I have put on roughly 10 long distance flights with the new configuration. Hopefully it all holds up. Thanks for everyone's help on this.
