First quadcopter choosing sunnisky motors!

Hello,
This is my first build i spent a lot of time in search of the better parts for my quadcopter.
My goal would be to transport my camera (300 g ) with a reasonable flight time
(using lower KV motors).

Here is my list:
  • Transmitter and receiver : Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter 30g approx (48€) link
  • Frame (very strong) : Homemade x config. 550mm 200g approx
  • Flight controller : Hobbyking KK2.0 multiWii 30g (50€) link
  • ESCs: 4x Afro ESC 30Amp (45€) x4= 104g Link
  • Motors : 4x Sunnysky X2212 980KV (54€) x4= 224g Link
Or: 4x SunnySky V2216-12 KV800 II
I would prefer a lower KV (600-900 KV )

  • Battery : 3 or 4 s probably 4 s ( based on the motor choiche).
  • Props : 10x4.5 SF Props 2pc CW 2 pc CCW 10g approx. . (€3) link
The props may change based on the motor choice ( using e-calc.)
My questions are two:

This configuration may be able to fly and carry my camera for a reasonable period of time?

What motors are better for my project ?

I don't think the 2212 motors are strong enough to swing 10x4.5 props. I think the 2216 is a better choise.

The Sunnysky's will push 10x5 props fine and are also quite happy on 4S, your frame is 550 so I would be going with a 2216 700kv and 11 inch props on 4S?

Not so sure about the props but there are probably okay to start with, i would go with GemFan props if you want cheap but Hobby King are probably getting GemFan to make these anyway. I prefer Graupner E-Props for this size props though.

Thanks for the reply,
Okay will use a different props for sure with a 700 kv motor (11-12 inch)
Starting with a cheaper props and after buy a more professional props.
Another question... what would be good ? a 11x4.5 ? with 700 kv ?

Why, it is a 550 homemade frame, could probably use 12 inch props but he will have to measure that himself.
Sorry, I missed the hommade part. It's still 550 mm though. I don't think that will be enough för 11" props.

Okay maybe 14 inch props are a little bit oversized;) but a 12 inch prop fits very well.
Or in future I can stretch the alu tubes.

Obviously it was more than just the homemade part I missed. I'll be quiet from now on.

Will also depend on how you make your motor mounting plate and how it mounts, may even be able to sneak in 15 inch props.... ;-)
