Hahaha... I had more comments on the model so far than the gimbal itself. But he's not a model. Danny is our best cinematographer and chief rebel officer! :)

But what do you think about the gimbal?

Well of course it looks like a neat design but it is not clear whether there is a three-axis option. The current photos demonstrate Tilt and Roll or Pan and Tilt, but not all three. Is that, or will that be, an option?

The big issue with 360° pan capability is cable runs when the gimbal is mounted on a heli or multi-rotor. When Tilt is inside Roll those two axes can be neatly cabled inside the arms but adding Pan is more of a challenge to the cabling, particularly when video monitoring or camera remote functions are required.

Will you be attending the IBC this year?

Hi Mombasa,

Yes there is a 3rd axis option in development, the motor output connector is already on the mainframe, so it just a matter of few weeks before the 3rd axis option is available.
The 360 continuous roll is usefull more for handheld and steadicam use, it gives you the possibility to make shots that where impossible before.

The aux in/out connector on the main frame will give you the option to control, power the camera, remote focus and have analog video trough built in cables in the frame. It's has a 6 pin connector on the side of mainframe which is connected directly to another 6 pin connector on the cameratray. You are basicly free to use them for any function you like. We might be adding an extra slip ring to the PAN Module with HDMI connectors to have the option of using the gimbal with the light-bridge.

The production model will have some minor changes to it to make it even lighter and easier to balance.

We are based near amsterdam, so we will defenetly be walking around at IBC with our gimbal.

Cheers ,
