Hi
So first I would just like to start of saying that I believe I have done my research (of course there is always more to learn) and my fair share of crashes over the last year while I have been learning. I learnt to fly on a HBFP v2 and rebuilt the thing at least 3 times over. Recently got into the multirotor flying after some basic fix wing foams that I built. In the summer I built a tricopter from flitestest's bat bones kit using a KK board.
Anyway getting to the point I have now got a second hand Cx4 quad which I got second hand however never flown. I took it apart and rebuilt it so i knew everything was how it should be, programmed the wookong m flight control and have had probably maybe 10 hours flights on it over the last couple of months. However about 2 weeks ago the back left motor randomly dropped as I was hovering it and it went strait into a tree. I usually fly and land in normal mode so I have full control however it was windy and as when I get it fully ready to film I'm going to be filming in high wind because I'm filming sailing I wanted to test out the GPS hold in strong wind, now GPS hold had worked perfectly before this (to my limited knowledge)but here it failed and as I wasn't in full control I couldn't correct the dropped motor so it crashed. I have now fully rebuilt it and have flown up until the past week.
After about a week maybe 2 I noticed that on start up there is quick green yellow flashing from the LED , this means abnormal compass data so I have resetup the compass yet this still happens, now this maybe wrong but I have continued to fly and everything has gone smoothly up until this week where the quad now crashes at exactly (give or take 10 seconds) 4 minutes after take off if in GPS hold mode. It has now crashed 3 times at 4 minutes in GPS hold, on the last flight tonight i flicked it too normal at 10 seconds before and flew around perfectly happy until 4 minutes 30 when I got curious and flicked back too GPS hold to see what would happen. it immediately pulled back and went strait into the ground. Oh and there were no yellow or red flashes to indicate low voltage and when charging only 1800 Mah was put back into a 5000 Mah pack.
Troubleshooting : I checked all motors for temperature after the flights so I knew it wasn't them failing, this goes for esc's too.
Re done compass calibration
checked assistant software to see if anything could be found: nothing seemed to be wrong.
I'm going to try and reinstall software to the wookong m if this can be done.
Any more ideas would be very welcome.
Thanks for your time and help in advance !!
