WKM GPS ans Compass manual confusion

I just want to clear it out when to take off and when to compass calibrate.

In WKM manual (fig 1 and 2) describe two different metod when using GPS. If red blinks DO NOT Take off, other one if 2 red or one red blink READY TO GO. Which one is RIGHT?
Another is compass calibration. In fig 3 mention that you must calibrate compass if you change (remove/change) batteries? Is this right? So, when switching discharged battery with new one (charged one) must do compass calibration?

Can I place GPS module under the black protected plastic cover without loosing GPS signal?

in general, it needs at least 6 gps sats( wich means 2 red blinks or less) to use gps. best is to wait until red lights have gone out for best results. about the compass. with reposition the battery etc just means you only have to recalibrate when putten the battery's on a different spot on your multicopter. not after changing to fresh batterys

exactly. with me, under the dome works fine. just wait for gps signal, take of and fly in atti an look if the red led starts blinking in flight telling you having les the 8 sats.

You don't need to recalibrate your craft everytime you change batteries if you mount them in the same place. If you change the position of your batteries on your craft, you might want to recalibrate. I have two spots on my craft that I'll position the battery. I do it to balance the craft. I personally don't recalibrate and I have not had any issues. My GPS/Compass is on the rear using the highest mount that came with DJI WKM.

For good GPS flight you should have a flashing purple light. That way you'll have a reliable flight without drift issues:

Here is what is quoted from the manual:

* When system is powered on, you must not move your multi rotor or sticks on transmitter until the system initialization is finished (about 5 seconds)
* Make sure the GPS signal is good, without red LED blinking. Otherwise multi rotor will drift without stick commands.
* Please avoid using MC system in the following areas, where GPS signal is most likely blocked:
* Urban area with crowded buildings
* Tunnels
* Under bridges

If I power my craft inside of my house in GPS mode I'll get a red and purple flashing LED. If I power my craft outside I'll only get a flashing purple LED indicating that it has good GPS signal. My understanding of the manual is that for good GPS performance you should have just a purple LED flashing. If you receive a red and purple LED it means that you don't have the best GPS signal and that GPS flight will be unreliable (meaning that it may drift from position). That's not saying that your GPS will not work. It just means that It may be unreliable.

Take your craft outside and supply power to see what signal you get from your GPS. Also wait about 30-40 seconds after powering your craft until you get a steady flashing green LED. That records your home position in case of radio failure. Your craft will fly back to it's launch position (if set up correctly...)
