I just bought an AD-8HLE and was not sure which props would work best and, since the Droidworx spec sheet indicates either 12 or 13" props with 430mm booms needed for 14" props, I ordered two sets of 12" and two sets of 13".
The 13" do NOT fit 410mm booms.
Then I got stung by AltiGator who charged me a restocking fee because I had not notified them within a week that I wished to return them. Who the hell looks at the props until the rest is done and who the hell ever finishes building within a week after waiting for all the parts to arrive from different places because nobody seems to stock EVERYTHING at the same time.
And anyway, it was Droidworx' disorganised fault, not mine. I'll bet Macgrafs will have something to say about THAT conspiracy.
It annoys me now that I do not have the choice to try the 13" because I am finding the AD-8 puffs a bit when carrying the 5D.
Having struggled with assembling and configuring the stupid, fiddleass Bluetooth wireless data link thingies I was pleasantly surprised to discover they actually work. So, the first thing was to check in-flight BL temperatures. They reached a whopping 95°C when carrying the 5D with a miserable flight time of six minutes.
So, my solution is to leave the 5D for the big gasser heli (or sell it) and stick a NEX-5 on the AD-8 to lower BL temps and recover a few minutes of air time.
