What is California doing?...this Bill goes way too far!! Pretty much bans RC aircraft.

If the bill is signed by Governor Jerry Brown it will create a no-fly zone and make it a trespass violation for someone to fly an unmanned aircraft or drone over private property below 350ft without the consent of the owner or tenant.

I like it.

Yes hopefully they will come to their senses and also ban any aircraft from flying over private property. Height restrictions should be based on the weight of the aircraft - the more it weights the higher the restriction. Small drones don't carry heavy zoom lenses but full size aircraft certainly can so they should not be allowed to fly lower than 5000ft over private property.

It seems this law is fueled by the media's sensationalism of drones. We all accept 747's and all manner of aircraft weighing tons flying over (and occasionally crashing into) private property. Privacy from being filmed by a GoPro is pretty much guaranteed if the camera is 50ft away and my educated guess is that all the reports of drones in someone's back yard 99% of the time involves a GoPro more than 50ft away.
