What is a waypoint licence?

Tried googling this but no idea what the 'licence' part is, what it does, why it's needed.
I see it mentioned in some DJI ground station packages and not in others.
Can anyone explain please?!

If anything I think this might be a software license. There is certainly no actual 'waypoint license' that deals with allowing you to fly waypoint based missions. In UK, if you wish to fly for gain, then you need your BNUC-S but that's about it. Where did you see this license?

Ahh, that's for when the WKM didn't come with the Waypoint upgrade already installed. No need for that now if you have recently bought a WKM. This time last year the waypoints were an expensive upgrade.

Thanks for the info. Was concerned I needed to pay some kind of subscription like a SIM card to access a Satellite network!
