I just saw that Hobby King are stocking a new model of the Walkera QRX350 called the “Pro”. It’s notable for some interesting capabilities.

    • High capacity 3S 5200mAh battery provides 25 minute flight times
    • G-2D brushless camera gimbal (compatible with iLook and GoPro Hero 3)
    • Devention DEVO 10 programmable transmitter with 2KM control range (mode 2)
    All for $659.

And upon further investigation, it appears that Walkera are also making a “FPV2” version that adds “1.5-2km” FPV downlink. They’ve not produced anything more in terms of requirements, or details on how they interface to a GoPro (pictured on their site), or if they require their own GoPro clone camera, instead. It appears they’ll sell that FPV2 model for $899, but no sense of whether it’s actually shipping.

I’m very curious to see if it delivers on these range numbers. If it does, that’s pretty significant.

Any thoughts? Anybody seen one of these in the wild yet?
